The 2008 European Mixed Team Badminton Championships were held in Herning, Denmark, from April 12 to April 15, and were organised by the Badminton Europe and the Danmarks Badminton Forbund. Messecenter Herning
The MCH Messecenter Herning is an convention center, exhibition centre and entertainment complex in Herning, Herning, Denmark. The complex is the largest fair and exhibition center in Denmark– beating the Bella Center in Copenhagen. Anthony Clark (badminton)
Anthony Ian Clark (born 1 November 1977) is an English former badminton player. He is a mixed and men's doubles silver medalists at the 2006 World Championships. Clark won the mixed doubles title at the 2008 European Championships, and was part of the England winning team at the 2002 Commonwealth Games. Career 2004 Summer Olympics Clark competed in badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics in men's doubles with partner Nathan Robertson. Badminton Tournaments In Denmark
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Tracey Jayne Hallam (born 24 March 1975) is a former English badminton player. Career Hallam played badminton at the 2004 Summer Olympics. In women's singles, she defeated Juliane Schenk of Germany and Camilla Martin of Denmark in the first two rounds. In the quarterfinals, Hallam lost to Mia Audina of the Netherlands 11–0, 11–9. At the 1998 Commonwealth Games Hallam won the gold in the women's team event and bronze in the singles event. Tine Rasmussen
Tine Baun (née Rasmussen; born 21 July 1979) is a Danish former badminton player. Most notably, she won the All England Open Badminton Championships women's singles title three times in 2008, 2010, and 2013 – the last of these being her final tournament before retirement. Career summary Baun started playing badminton since she was 7 years old. She played at Lynge, a small club in North Zealand, Denmark. Andrew Michael Smith (born 3 June 1984) is an English badminton player. Career He had won the New Zealand International in 2004, the Australian International in 2004 and 2005, and also the Croatian International and the Vietnam Open in 2006. Joachim Persson
Joachim Persson (born 23 May 1983) is a badminton player from Denmark. Career Persson was born in Denmark but his family moved to Germany in his early years. He began to playing badminton in Trittau, Germany together with his parents. As German player, he helped the German team to win the mixed team title at the 2001 European Junior Championships, also won a silver medal in the singles event. Donna Kellogg
Donna Victoria Kellogg, (born 20 January 1978) is an English former badminton player. She is the European Champion, winning the women's doubles titles in 2000, 2006 and the mixed doubles title in 2008. She won the silver medal at the 2006 World Championships. Kellogg also won the women's doubles title at the 1998 Commonwealth Games, and was part of the England winning team at the 1998 and 2002 Commonwealth Games. Career Kellogg first played badminton at the age of 10. Her first representative match for England was against China at the 1997 World Championships in Scotland. Kamilla Rytter Juhl
Kamilla Rytter Juhl (born 23 November 1983) is a retired Danish badminton player. Juhl is an Olympic silver medalist, World Championship gold medalist and seven times European champion as well. Career Rytter Juhl played as a left-handed doubles specialist. Juhl enjoyed a successful mixed doubles career with Thomas Laybourn, winning the 2009 BWF World Championships and two European titles in 2006 and 2010. Thomas Laybourn (born 30 September 1977) is a retired badminton player from Denmark. He is a World Champion, two times European Champion and was ranked as world number 1 in the mixed doubles in January 2011. Career Laybourn won the 2006 European Badminton Championships in the mixed doubles with partner Kamilla Rytter Juhl. He also competed at the 2006 IBF World Championships in mixed doubles (with Juhl), and were defeated in the quarterfinals by Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms 14–21, 17–21.
