Esiliiga
The Esiliiga is the second division in the Estonian football league system. The Esiliiga is ranked below the Meistriliiga and above the Esiliiga B. As in most countries with low temperatures in winter time, the season starts in March and ends in November. The league features several reserve teams of Meistriliiga clubs. According to the rules set by the Estonian Football Association, reserve teams are ineligible for promotion to the Meistriliiga, but can play in the Estonian Cup. Competition format During the season, the teams play each of the other four times, twice at home and twice away. This makes for a total of 36 games played each season. The teams gain three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a defeat. Promotion and relegation between divisions is a central feature of the league. 2008 Meistriliiga
The 2008 season of Meistriliiga, the first level in the Estonian football system, was the 18th season in the league's history. It began on 8 March 2008 and ended on 15 November 2008. The defending champions were Levadia. Promotion and relegation 10th placed Ajax were directly relegated after the end of the previous season. Since reserve squads are not allowed to be promoted to Meistriliiga, third placed Esiliiga team Sillamäe Kalev were directly promoted to 2008 Meistriliiga. Kuressaare (9th placed Meistriliiga team) and Kalju (6th placed Esiliiga team) competed in promotion/relegation play-offs for one spot in 2008 Meistriliiga. The aggregate score was 2–2 and Nõmme Kalju were promoted due to scoring more away goals. Daminozide—also known as aminozide, Alar, Kylar, SADH, B-995, B-nine, and DMASA,—is a plant growth regulator, a chemical sprayed on fruit to regulate growth, make harvest easier, and keep apples from falling off the trees before they ripen so they are red and firm for storage. It was produced in the U.S. by the Uniroyal Chemical Company, Inc, (now integrated into the Chemtura Corporation), which registered daminozide for use on fruits intended for human consumption in 1963. Sportland Arena is an association football stadium in Tallinn, Estonia. Located next to Estonia's largest stadium A. Le Coq Arena, it is part of the Lilleküla Football Complex. Wismari Stadium is a football stadium in Tallinn, Estonia. Opened in 1916, it is the oldest existing football field in Tallinn. It currently serves as a training ground for TJK Legion. Wismari was the historic home ground of the nine-time Estonian champion Tallinna Sport during the first period of independence in Estonia. The address of the stadium is Wismari 15a. Vitali Vladimirovich Kutuzov ( be, Віталь Уладзіміравіч Кутузаў; born 20 March 1980) is a Belarusian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Club career Kutuzov was born in Pinsk. Tallinna Jalgpalli Klubi Legion or simply TJK Legion is an Estonian football club, based in Tallinn. On 4 January 2007, Tallinna Jalgpalli Klubi and Tallinna SK Legion merged into this club. Legion also has a reserve team. Its name is Tallinna JK Legion II. History Predecessor Tallinna JK Tallinna Jalgpalli Klubi, or TJK in short, was founded on 5 May 1921 and were one of the founding members of the Estonian Football Championship in 1921. TJK became the first football club in Estonia to have a foreign coach, appointing Hungarian Franz Woggenhuber as coach in 1922.
