2008 Eneco Tour
The 2008 Eneco Tour of Benelux cycling road race takes place from 20 to 27 August 2008 in the Benelux. Like the previous years, parts of the Netherlands and Belgium are covered. The 18 UCI ProTour teams are participating and two extra teams were invited, namely Cycle Collstrop Cycle Collstrop () was a Sweden, Swedish UCI Professional Continental cycling team. It was the successor to Unibet.com, which was mainly sponsor (commercial), sponsored by the online gambling website Unibet.com and as a continuation of the MrBookm ... and Skil–Shimano who were each given a wild card. 2008 UCI ProTour
The 2008 UCI ProTour is the fourth year of the UCI ProTour system. Following protracted disagreement between the organisers of the Grand Tours (ASO, RCS and Unipublic) and the UCI, all races organized by ASO, RCS and Unipublic were withdrawn from the ProTour calendar. This removed all three Grand Tours ( Giro d'Italia, Tour de France and Vuelta a España), four of the five monuments ( Milan–San Remo, Paris–Roubaix, Liège–Bastogne–Liège and Giro di Lombardia) and four further races ( Paris–Nice, Tirreno–Adriatico, La Flèche Wallonne and Paris–Tours). As such, the quality of the races of the ProTour was diminished. The Australian race, the Tour Down Under was added to the calendar, making it the first race outside Europe on the ProTour (although races had previously been held outside Europe as part of the UCI Road World Cup). Terneuzen
Terneuzen () is a city and municipality in the southwestern Netherlands, in the province of Zeeland, in the middle of Zeelandic Flanders. Juan José Haedo
Juan José Haedo (born 26 January 1981) is an Argentine former professional road racing cyclist and track cyclist, who rode professionally between 2003 and 2014. He is the brother of Lucas Sebastián Haedo. Haedo started his career on the track before turning professional on the road in 2003 with Colavita-Bolla. After a year in the United States with the Toyota - United Pro Cycling Team he joined in 2007. Haedo had a successful career with CSC picking up notable stage wins in the Tour of California, Critérium du Dauphiné, Tirreno Adriatico and Vuelta a España. In 2010 he was granted the Konex Award Merit Diploma as one of the five best cyclist of the last decade in Argentina. He competed with the team until the end of 2012, when he joined . Individual Time Trial
An individual time trial (ITT) is a road bicycle race in which cyclists race alone against the clock (in French: ''contre la montre'' – literally "against the watch", in Italian: ''tappa a cronometro'' "stopwatch stage"). There are also track-based time trials where riders compete in velodromes, and team time trials (TTT). ITTs are also referred to as "the race of truth", as winning depends only on each rider's strength and endurance, and not on help provided by teammates and others riding ahead and creating a slipstream. Edvald Boasson Hagen (born 17 May 1987) is a Norwegian professional road racing cyclist, who rides for UCI ProTeam . He was ranked as no. 3 in the world by UCI as of 31 August 2009, when he was 22 years old.
