2008 Baltic League
The 2008 Baltic League (known as the 2008 Triobet Baltic League for sponsorship reasons) was the second Baltic League football tournament. The tournament took place in the Baltic states in 2008. The first matches took place on 4 March. The draw for the 2008 Baltic League took place in Riga, Latvia, on 12 January 2008. FBK Kaunas
Kauno futbolo ir beisbolo klubas, commonly known as FBK Kaunas, was a Lithuanian football club from the city of Kaunas. History Banga Kaunas (1960–1993) Originally the team was founded in 1960 as Banga Kaunas and played its first three years in the Soviet First League. Afterwards the club decided to play in the Lithuanian SSR Championship and they did so until 1990. In that period they won two Lithuanian SSR Championship's. One in 1986 and another in 1989. When Lithuania regained independence in 1991 A Lyga was created and they played as Banga Kaunas until 1993 before the club changed its name. FBK Kaunas (1993–1999 and 2000–2012) The club changed its name in 1993 to Kauno futbolo beisbolo klubas. The club had in its first years not such a great success and FBK Kaunas had to wait until 1999 before they could lift a trophy again. Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Valdas Trakys
Valdas Trakys (born 20 March 1979) is a Lithuanian football coach and a former player. He is the manager of Neptūnas. Playing career Trakys started his professional career in 1995 with FK Panerys Vilnius in his native Lithuania. He played for FC Harelbeke and FBK Kaunas before moving to Russia to play for Torpedo Moscow. After a year with FC Khimki, Trakys left Russia to play for FH Hafnarfjörður in Iceland. Trakys then moved to Germany, playing for Greuther Fürth. Since 2004, Trakys has played in Russia, Lithuania, Azerbaijan and Greece. He was top scorer in the Lithuanian A Lyga in the 2009 season. Estonian Football Association
The Estonian Football Association (EJL; et, Eesti Jalgpalli Liit) is the governing body of football, beach soccer and futsal in Estonia, established on 14 December 1921. It organizes the football league, including the championship which is called Meistriliiga, Estonian Cup and the Estonian national football team. It is based in Tallinn. EJL became a member of FIFA in 1923, but following Estonia's annexation by the Soviet Union it was disbanded. It became a member again in 1992 after Estonia reinstated its independence. Daugava National Stadium ( lv, Daugavas stadions) is a multifunctional stadium in Riga, Latvia, which was first opened in 1927. It holds football and athletics competitions. Since 1992 the Daugava Stadium has been designated as a sports facility of national importance and is owned by the Government of Latvia. Mindaugas Kalonas (born 28 February 1984) is a Lithuanian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Kalonas played in the youth teams of Dynamo Moscow, then moved to Rubin Kazan, before having a spell at Portuguese club S.C. Braga. But at neither club he made it through to the first team. He then moved to Latvia where he played with FHK Liepājas Metalurgs, who went on to win the 2006 Latvian cup, coming second in the league.
