2007–08 FC Bayern Munich Season
Prior to the beginning of the 2007–08 season, Bayern Munich underwent a major restructuring of the team, releasing or retiring nine players while adding ten others to the squad, most notably Luca Toni and Franck Ribéry. The season started with Bayern winning the DFB-Ligapokal, followed by a shootout win in the DFB-Pokal against Wacker Burghausen on 6 August 2007. On the first day of the 2007–08 Bundesliga season, Bayern achieved a 3–0 victory over Hansa Rostock. As the season progressed, Bayern continued in first in the league table, eventually winning the championship. Bayern also won the 2007–08 DFB-Pokal, thereby completing the domestic treble. International success was thwarted by Zenit Saint Petersburg, however, when Bayern suffered a horrible 4–0 defeat in the second leg of the semi-final after a draw at home. SV Wacker Burghausen is a Football in Germany, German football club based in Burghausen, Altötting, Burghausen, Bavaria and is part of one of the nation's largest sports clubs with some 6,000 members participating in two dozen different sports. History The club was founded on 13 November 1930 and was made up largely of employees from the local chemical factory Wacker Chemie, which was established in 1914, and still sponsors the club today. Mark Peter Gertruda Andreas van Bommel (born 22 April 1977) is a Dutch football coach and former player who played as a midfielder. He is currently the manager of Belgian side Royal Antwerp. Weserstadion
Weserstadion () is a multi-purpose stadium in Bremen, Germany. The Weserstadion is scenically situated on the north bank of the Weser River and is surrounded by lush green parks (the name 'Werder' is a regional German word for "river peninsula"). The city center is only about a kilometre away. It is the home stadium of German Bundesliga club Werder Bremen. Artists that have performed at the stadium include Bon Jovi, Michael Jackson, Tina Turner, Depeche Mode, Metallica, The Rolling Stones, Guns N' Roses and Van Halen, among others. The stadium originally included an athletics track, but that was partially removed in 2002 when the pitch was sunk by and the stands at the straights were lengthened to the new pitch. Andreas Ottl (; born 1 March 1985) is a German former footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He signed his first professional contract for Bayern Munich on 1 July 2005. He played for Germany's U-21 Team. Ottl is a highly versatile player being able to play various midfield positions as well as playing as a defender. Hamit Altıntop (; born 8 December 1982) is a Turkish former professional footballer and current board member of the Turkish Football Federation. He was a versatile midfielder who could play either in a defending or attacking role and on both flanks, known for his creative flair and long-range shooting ability.
