2007 WGC-CA Championship
The 2007 WGC-CA Championship was a golf tournament that was contested from March 22–25 over the Blue Monster Course at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Doral, Florida. It was the eighth WGC-CA Championship tournament, and the second of three World Golf Championships events held in 2007. It was the first tournament under the sponsorship of CA, Inc. and took the place of the Ford Championship at Doral on the PGA Tour schedule. World number 1 Tiger Woods was the two-time defending champion and won the tournament to capture his third consecutive and sixth overall WGC-CA Championship and his 13th World Golf Championships title. This was the second time Woods captured three consecutive titles at the same WCG event (he also won NEC Invitational from 1999−2001). Doral is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. One of 34 municipalities in the county, it is located west of Miami International Airport and west of Downtown Miami. Stephen Michael Ames (born April 28, 1964) is a professional golfer formerly of the PGA Tour, who now plays on the PGA Tour Champions. The biggest win of his career was at The Players Championship in 2006. He holds dual citizenship of Trinidad and Tobago and Canada. Joseph Scott Durant (born April 7, 1964) is an American professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He was previously a member of the PGA Tour, where he was a four-time winner. Early life Durant was born in Pensacola, Florida. He attended Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama, where he majored in Marketing and graduated in 1987. Timothy Henry Clark (born 17 December 1975) is a South African professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour.
