Tour Of Qatar
The Tour of Qatar was an annual professional cycling stage race held in Qatar. First organized in 2002, the event was part of the UCI Asia Tour until 2016. The 2017 edition was to have seen the event upgraded to the UCI World Tour for the first time, but it was cancelled due to lack of sponsorship support. The event consisted of a men's competition over five stages, and, since 2009, a women's competition over four stages – held a week before the men's race. Because Qatar is entirely flat, the tour was almost always won by a sprinter or classics specialist. Lloyd Mondory (born 26 April 1982) is a French restaurateur and former professional road bicycle racer, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2015 for the team before he was suspended for four years for the use of erythropoietin (EPO). The biggest results of his career included victory in the 2008 Grand Prix of Aargau Canton, stage wins in the Étoile de Bessèges, the Vuelta a Burgos and the Paris–Corrèze and second place in a stage of the 2008 Vuelta a España. In March 2015, it was announced that Mondory had tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO) in an out-of-competition test taken on 17 February. On 30 October 2015, the UCI announced that Mondory was suspended until 9 March 2019. Mondory did not return to cycling after his ban finished, electing to focus on his restaurant Oncle Scott's in Carentan, which opened in 2016. Marcel Sieberg (born 30 April 1982 in Castrop-Rauxel, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German former road racing cyclist, who last rode for UCI WorldTeam . He turned professional in 2005. He competed in the Tour de France a total of nine times. For the majority of his career, he was one of André Greipel's lead-out men, having been teammates at both (2008–2010) and then later (2011–2018). In that role he assisted Greipel to over 100 race wins. However, in August 2018 it emerged that the pair would go their separate ways for 2019, with Sieberg signing an initial one-year deal with , taking on a role as a lead-out man for another German sprinter, Phil Bauhaus. He played a role in Bauhaus' stage wins at the 2020 Tour of Saudi Arabia and the 2021 Tour de Hongrie. In June 2021, his team announced that he would retire at the end of the season.
