The Senate is the upper chamber of Nigeria's bicameral legislature, the National Assembly of Nigeria. The National Assembly (popularly referred to as NASS) is the nation's highest legislature, whose power is to make laws, is summarized in chapter one, section four of the 1999 Nigerian Constitution. It consists of 109 senators: the 36 states are each divided in 3 senatorial districts each electing one senator using the first-past-the-post electoral system; the Federal Capital Territory elects only one senator also using first-past-the-post. Ondo State ( yo, Ìpínlẹ̀ Oǹdó) is a state in southwestern Nigeria. It was created on 3 February 1976 from the former Western State. It borders Ekiti State to the north, Kogi State to the northeast, Edo State to the east, Delta State to the southeast, Ogun State to the southwest, Osun State to the northwest, and the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Gbenga Ogunniya (born September 1949) was elected Senator for the Ondo Central constituency of Ondo State, Nigeria on the Alliance for Democracy (AD) platform, taking office on 29 May 1999. Wilfred Olabode Olajumoke (Bode Olajumoke) is a Nigerian politician who was a member of the Senate of Nigeria for Ondo State from 2007 to 2011. Retrieved 16 September 2009. Background Bode Olajumoke was born in Lagos on 1 July 1944, of a Yoruba family from Imeri in Ondo State. He has an LL.M (Moscow), a Ph.D (Law) Edinburgh and a BL (Lagos). Hosea Oladapo Ehinlanwo (born 2 August 1938) was elected Senator for the Ondo South constituency of Ondo State, Nigeria, taking office on 29 May 2003, and was reelected in 2007. The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), formerly known as Action Congress (AC), was a Nigerian political party formed via the merger of a faction of Alliance for Democracy, the Justice Party, the Advance Congress of Democrats, and several other minor political parties in September 2006. The party controlled Lagos.
