The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა - lit. National League) is the top division of professional football in Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017 the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight. Georgi Demetradze ( ka, გიორგი დემეტრაძე, born 26 September 1976) is a Georgian former professional footballer who played as a striker. He made 56 appearances for the Georgia national team scoring 12 goals. Career Born in Tbilisi, Demetradze played for the Dinamo Tbilisi youth team and signed for the club in 1994 after spending two seasons with Kaheti Telavi. He has become the Georgian league top scorer with Dinamo. In 1997 Demetradze moved to Rotterdam to play for Feyenoord, but an injury limited his playing time. Andriy Anatoliyovych Rusol ( uk, Андрій Анатолійович Русол; born 16 January 1983) is a Ukrainian retired footballer who formerly played as a defender for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and the Ukrainian national team. Club career Rusol was a defender. He started his career with Zirka Kirovohrad in the 1998–99 season. He then transferred to Kryvbas Kryvyi Rih for the 1999–2000 season. Ruslan Petrovych Rotan ( uk, Руслан Петрович Ротань; born 29 October 1981) is a Ukrainian former professional footballer and manager of Ukraine national under-21 football team. Malkhaz Asatiani ( ka, მალხაზ ასათიანი; born 4 August 1981) is a Georgian former football defender. He started as an attacking midfielder but his displays at the back earned him a solid reputation as a central defender. Mostly playing as center-back at his club, Asatiani was often used as a playmaker for the national team.
