2006–07 ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The 2006–07 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating was a series of international invitational competitions in the first half of the 2006–07 figure skating season. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dancing over six events. Skaters earned a certain number of points per placement and the top six scoring skaters at the end of the series qualified for the 2006–07 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final. The Grand Prix series set the stage for the 2007 European Figure Skating Championships, the 2007 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, the 2007 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, and the 2007 World Figure Skating Championships, as well as each country's national championships. ISU Grand Prix Of Figure Skating
The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating (known as ISU Champions Series from 1995 to 1997) is a series of senior international figure skating competitions organized by the International Skating Union. The invitational series was inaugurated in 1995, incorporating several previously existing events. Medals are awarded in the disciplines of single skating, men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The junior-level equivalent is the ISU Junior Grand Prix. 2005–06 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2005–06 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the ninth season of the ISU Junior Grand Prix, a series of international junior level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the Grand Prix of Figure Skating, which was for senior-level skaters. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The top skaters from the series met at the Junior Grand Prix Final. Skaters who reached the age of 13 by July 1, 2005 but had not turned 19 (singles and females of the other two disciplines) or 21 (male pair skaters and ice dancers) were eligible to compete on the junior circuit. Kimmie Meissner
Kimberly Claire "Kimmie" Meissner (born October 4, 1989) is an American former competitive figure skater. She is the 2006 World champion, the 2007 Four Continents champion, and the 2007 U.S. national champion. She is the first American and the first woman to simultaneously hold the World, Four Continents, and national titles. In 2005, Meissner became the second American woman to land the triple Axel jump in national competition. She was the youngest American athlete to compete at the 2006 Olympics, coming in sixth place. She won the World Championships the following month, and the U.S. Nationals the following season. She was inducted into the U.S. Figure Skating Hall of Fame in 2020. Miki Ando
is a retired Japanese figure skater. She is the 2007 and 2011 World champion, 2011 Four Continents champion, 2004 World Junior champion, and a three-time (2003, 2004 & 2010) Japanese national champion. Ando is the first female skater to complete a quadruple jump successfully in competition. She accomplished this at the 2002–03 Junior Grand Prix Final in The Hague, Netherlands. Personal life Ando was born on December 18, 1987 in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. Her father died in a traffic accident when she was eight years old. In 2006, Ando joined Toyota and also entered Chukyo University as an adult learner, from which she graduated in March 2011. Alban Préaubert
Alban Préaubert (born 20 September 1985) is a French former competitive figure skater. He won six ISU Grand Prix medals and five French national bronze medals (2006, 2008–11). Personal life Alban Préaubert was born on 20 September 1985 in Grenoble, France. His studies focused on economy and management. He graduated with an MBA from ESCP Europe in May 2010. Evan Frank Lysacek (; born June 4, 1985) is an American retired figure skater. He is the 2010 Olympic champion, the 2009 World champion, a two-time (2005, 2007) Four Continents champion, the 2009 Grand Prix Final champion, and a two-time (2007, 2008) U.S. national champion. Nobunari Oda
is a Japanese competitive figure skater. He is the 2006 Four Continents champion, a four-time Grand Prix Final medalist (silver in 2009 and 2010; bronze in 2006 and 2013), the 2005 World Junior champion and the 2008 Japanese national champion. Themistocles Nicholas "Themi" Leftheris (born December 20, 1982) is an United States, American-South Korean pair skater. With partner Naomi Nari Nam, he is the 2006 Skate America bronze medalist and 2007 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, 2007 U.S. national bronze medalist. Naomi Nari Nam (born July 6, 1985) is an American former competitive figure skater who competed in both single skating and pair skating. As a single skater, she was the 1999 U.S. national silver medalist. Mariusz Siudek
Mariusz Krzysztof Siudek (Polish pronunciation: ; born 29 April 1972 in Oświęcim) is a retired Polish pair skater who competed with wife Dorota Siudek (Zagórska). They are the 1999 World bronze medalists, two-time (1999, 2000) European silver medalists and two-time (2004, 2007) European bronze medalists. They were the first Polish pair to win a medal at the World Championships. They now coach together in Toruń, Poland. Career Siudek was introduced to figure skating by his sister.
