The 2006 IIHF European Champions Cup was the second edition of IIHF European Champions Cup. It was held in Saint Petersburg at the Ice Palace arena, from January 5 to January 8. HC Dynamo Moscow
HC Dynamo Moscow () is a Russian professional ice hockey club based in Moscow. It is a member of the Tarasov Division in the Kontinental Hockey League. Dynamo has won the Gagarin Cup twice, in 2011–12 and 2012–13 seasons, and have won the regular season championship once, in 2013–14, winning the Continental Cup. The club is one of the most successful teams in Russia. History The team was founded in 1946 and belonged the Dynamo Moscow sports club, a part of Dynamo sports society sponsored by the Soviet Ministry of Interior and the national security structures including the KGB. It won the first Soviet hockey championship in 1946–47, beating Spartak Moscow in the finals. Helmed by Arkady Chernyshev during the first decades of its history, Dynamo established itself as one of the top teams of the Soviet hockey league. Landon Wilson
Landon Wilson (born March 13, 1975) is an American former professional ice hockey right winger who last played for the Texas Stars of the AHL, where he served as team captain. He is the son of former NHL forward Rick Wilson. Early life Landon Wilson was born on March 13, 1975 in St. Louis, Missouri. At the time, his father Rick Wilson was in the first of his two seasons playing for the St. Louis Blues. The Wilson family went on to move eight times over the next 18 years as a result of Rick's playing career and coaching career. As a youth, Wilson played in the 1989 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Oyster Bay, New York. Alexander Ragulin
Alexander Pavlovich "Rags" Ragulin (russian: Александр Павлович Рагулин; 5 May 1941 – 17 November 2004) was a Russian ice hockey player. He is considered one of the best defensemen in Soviet ice hockey history, winning three Olympic gold medals and ten world titles. Playing career Ragulin began training in ice hockey in 1957 with Khimik Voskresensk, where he played with his brothers Anatoli and Mikhail. In 1962 he moved to powerhouse CSKA Moscow and played with that team until retiring in 1973. With CSKA he won nine Soviet titles (1963–66, 1968, 1970–73) and five European Champions Cups (1969–73). During his 13 years with the Soviet national team, Ragulin played 239 matches and scored 29 goals. Jari Viuhkola (born 27 February 1980) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey centre. He represented Kärpät in the Finnish SM-liiga. Viuhkolas career ended with season 2014-2015, after suffering from knee injuries. His last playing sessions he met with Mestis-team Kajaanin Hokki. Topi Jaakola (born 15 November 1983) is a Finnish professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently playing for the ZSC Lions in the National League (NL). He was drafted by the Florida Panthers, 134th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft however opted to remain in Europe to pursue his professional career. Tomi Kristian Kallio (born 27 January 1977) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey right winger who last played for HC TPS in the Finnish Liiga. After retiring from TPS in 2018, Kallio remained with the team and assumed the role of director of European scouting. Playing career Kallio was drafted 81st overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft and began his professional career with TPS of the SM-liiga and spent five seasons there, winning the championship trophy in 1999 and 2000. He then moved to the National Hockey League with the Atlanta Thrashers who claimed him from Colorado in the 1999 NHL Expansion Draft. David Johnny Oduya (born 1 October 1981), is a Swedish former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League (NHL). He is of Kenyan Luo descent on his father's side.
