After an attempted breakaway started by Swiss Christian Belz with one and a half laps to go, Martínez and de la Ossa caught up with him, with German Fitschen falling away but catching up again before the final curve. The 19th European Athletics Championships were held in Gothenburg, Sweden, between 7 August and 13 August 2006. The competition arena was the Ullevi Stadium and the official motto "Catch the Spirit". Daniele Meucci
Daniele Meucci (born 7 October 1985) is an Italian athlete who specialises in long-distance running, including track running, cross country and road running who won twenty medals at international level (seventeen at senior level and three at youth level). He represented Italy at the 2012 Summer Olympics, running in the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres. Meucci is a three-time medallist in the latter event at the European Athletics Championships, having won bronze in 2010 and 2016 and silver in 2012. He was also a bronze medallist at the European Cross Country Championships in 2012. He has competed at five World Championships in Athletics (2009 and 2011 in the 5000 m, 2011, 2013 and 2017 in the 10000 m and 2015 in the marathon). Slavko Petrović ( sr-Cyrl, Славко Петровић; born 10 August 1958) is a Serbian professional football manager and former player. Playing career Petrović was a goalkeeper at Red Star Belgrade. Although he made no league appearances for them, he went to Germany, where he spent most of his career playing with Fortuna Düsseldorf, Rot-Weiss Essen and Wormatia Worms. He won the 1979–80 DFB-Pokal while playing for Fortuna Düsseldorf. Ricardo Serrano (born 29 October 1980) is a Spanish long-distance runner who specializes in the 10,000 metres. At the 2004 IAAF World Cross Country Championships he finished in 33rd place. Two years later, he managed only 65th place at the competition. He was the silver medallist at the 2006 European Cup 10000m in Antalya. He finished ninth over 10,000 m at the 2006 European Championships in Athletics, 2006 European Championships. He also competed at the 2007 IAAF World Road Running Championships, 2007 World Road Running Championships.
