Weyburn-Big Muddy
Weyburn-Big Muddy is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada. Located in southeastern Saskatchewan, the constituency was created through the ''Representation Act, 1994'' (Saskatchewan) by combining most of the Weyburn district with part of Bengough-Milestone. The "Weyburn" riding was once represented by former CCF Premier, and federal NDP leader, Tommy Douglas. The largest centre in the constituency is the city of Weyburn (pop. 9,433). Smaller communities in the district include the towns of Willow Bunch, Coronach, Ogema and Bengough; and the villages of Minton, Pangman and Mctaggart. Tununiq
Tununiq ( iu, ᑐᓄᓂᕐᒃ, formerly Tunniniq) is a territorial electoral district ( riding) for the Legislative Assembly of Nunavut Nunavut ( , ; iu, ᓄᓇᕗᑦ , ; ) is the largest and northernmost Provinces and territories of Canada#Territories, territory of Canada. It was separated officially from the Northwest Territories on April 1, 1999, via the ''Nunavut Act'' ..., Canada. The riding consists of the community of Pond Inlet. History The electoral district was named for the Pond Inlet area. There was a typo in the original legislation, and was corrected by amendments passed in the Assembly. 2006 Yukon General Election
The 2006 Yukon general election was held on October 10, 2006, in Yukon, Canada, to elect members of the 32nd Yukon Legislative Assembly. The Premier of Yukon asked the territorial Commissioner for a dissolution of the Assembly on September 8, 2006. Because of changes in the Yukon Act, the Yukon Party government's mandate resulting from this election is for as long as five years instead of four. Marie-Victorin Ward
Brother Marie-Victorin, F.S.C. (April 3, 1885 – July 15, 1944), was a Canadian member of Brothers of the Christian Schools and a noted botanist in Quebec, Canada. He is known as the father of the Botanical Garden of Montreal. Biography He was born Joseph-Louis-Conrad Kirouac to Cyrille Kirouac, a flower merchant, and Philomène Luneau in Kingsey Falls, Quebec. Prior to taking religious vows and becoming Brother Marie-Victorin, he was known as Conrad. 2006 New Brunswick General Election
The 2006 New Brunswick general election was held on September 18, 2006, to elect 55 members to the 56th New Brunswick Legislative Assembly, the governing house of the Provinces and territories of Canada, province of New Brunswick, Canada. The campaign came earlier than expected: the incumbent Premier of New Brunswick, Bernard Lord, had pledged a vote would be held on October 15, 2007 but when the ruling Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick, Progressive Conservatives faced a loss of its majority government, majority in the legislature, Lord said he did not want to face a minority government and, moreover, feared that a by-election could tip the balance of power to the parliamentary opposition, opposition New Brunswick Liberal Association, Liberals.
