British Superbike Championship
The British Superbike Championship (BSB), currently known for sponsorship reasons as the Bennetts British Superbike Championship, is the leading road racing superbike championship in the United Kingdom, and was once widely acknowledged as the premier domestic superbike racing series in the world. The championship is managed and organised by MotorSport Vision, who also own many of the circuits the series meets at. The Series and Race Director is Stuart Higgs, with event marshals provided by the Racesafe Marshals Association. The series typically races over twelve rounds from April to October, with the series concluding in a three-round 'Showdown,' where the top six riders are awarded points based on their podium finishes from the previous nine rounds and then compete over three rounds and seven races for the title. Luke Quigley (born 20 July 1981) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a for the Newcastle Knights in the National Rugby League (NRL) and the Catalans Dragons in the Super League. Background Quigley went to school at St Gregory's College, Campbelltown. Playing career Quigley made his first grade debut for Newcastle against the Wests Tigers in Round 15 2002. In 2003, Quigley made 21 appearances as Newcastle reached the finals but were eliminated by the Sydney Roosters. In 2005, Quigley made 16 appearances as Newcastle finished last claiming the wooden spoon. Quigley's final game in the NRL came in 2006 in a 50–6 loss against Brisbane in the elimination semi final. Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, it is situated on the A11 road north-east of the town of Thetford and south-west of the city of Norwich. James Westmoreland
James Westmoreland, (born 24 June 1988 at Wyton, East Yorkshire), also known as 'Westy', is an English motorcycle racer. In the 2019-2020 season, he will ride a Suzuki GSX-R1000 in the World Endurance Championship. Westmoreland competed in the British 125 cc and the British Superbike Championship. After finishing twice runner up in the competitive British 125GP field he moved into Supersport for 2007, where he claimed the Cup Championship in his debut season. A move into the main supersport class for 2008 saw him spend several seasons running at the front, taking fourteen podiums and four wins with a best Championship standing of second (just behind eventual World Supersport Champion Sam Lowes). In 2012, he competed in the British Superbike Championship with Team WFR and achieved the riders cup for that season, finishing 7th in the Championship and narrowly missing out on the Showdown. Mondello Park is Ireland's only international motorsport venue and is located in Caragh, County Kildare off the R409 regional road, approximately from Dublin city centre. History The Mondello Park short circuit was designed on farmland near Naas in Co Kildare by Stuart Cosgrave in 1966, following the demise of the Dunboyne motor races on traditional and dangerous roads in Co Meath. The circuit opened in 1968, and was extended via the National Loop the following year. Well-known Irish drivers such as Derek Daly, David Kennedy, Tommy Byrne and Eddie Jordan cut their teeth on the circuit in the 1970s and early 1980s, going on to international fame, but financial difficulties emerged thereafter. Oulton Park
Oulton Park is a hard surfaced track used for motor racing, close to the village of Little Budworth, Cheshire, England. It is about from Winsford, from Chester city centre, from Northwich and from Warrington, with a nearby rail connection along the Mid-Cheshire Line. Hudson Kennaugh (born 12 January 1981) is a South African professional motorcycle racer. He currently competes in the British National Superstock 1000 championship aboard a BMW S1000RR.
