The 2005–06 Vysshaya Liga season was the 14th season of the Vysshaya Liga, the second level of ice hockey in Russia. 28 teams participated in the league. Traktor Chelyabinsk, Krylya Sovetov Moscow, and Amur Khabarovsk were promoted to the Russian Superleague. Zauralie Kurgan (Хоккейный клуб «Зауралье» Курган) is an ice hockey team in Kurgan, Kurgan Oblast, Russia. They play in the VHL, the second level of Russian ice hockey. History The club was founded in 1994 as a merger between clubs Mostovik (Bridge Worker) and Turbinka (Turbine) as Mostovik-Turbinka Kurgan later becoming a farm club of Rubin Tyumen. It got its current name Zauralie (Trans-Ural) since the 2003–04 season. Motor Barnaul (russian: Мотор Барнаул) was an ice hockey team in Barnaul, Russia. History The club was founded in 1959 as the successor club to Spartak Barnaul, which had been founded in 1954. In Soviet times, Barnaul participated in various lower-level leagues. In the 1998–99 season the club participated in the second-level league organized by the Ice Hockey Federation of Russia. From 1999-2006, the club participated in the second-level Russian league, the Vysshaya Liga. The club was dissolved due to financial problems in 2006. Chelmet Chelyabinsk is a professional ice hockey team in the VHL. Based in Chelyabinsk, Russia, and affiliated with the Kontinental Hockey League`s Traktor Chelyabinsk, Chelmet plays its home games at Yunost Sports Palace. History The team was founded by the Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant in 1948 as Metallurg Chelyabinsk and competed in third rate Soviet division since 1957 subsequently getting relegated to the second division (Class A2) since the 70s seasons.
