2005–06 UCI Oceania Tour
The 2005–06 UCI Oceania Tour was the second season of the UCI Oceania Tour. The season began on 9 October 2005 with the Herald Sun Tour and ended on 29 January 2006 with the Tour of Wellington, Trust House Cycle Classic. The points leader, based on the cumulative results of previous races, wears the UCI Oceania Tour cycling jersey. Robert McLachlan (bicyle racer), Robert McLachlan of Australia was the defending champion of the 2005 UCI Oceania Tour. Gordon McCauley of New Zealand was crowned as the 2005–06 UCI Oceania Tour champion. Throughout the season, points are awarded to the top finishers of stages within stage races and the final general classification standings of each of the stages races and one-day events. The quality and complexity of a race also determines how many points are awarded to the top finishers, the higher the UCI rating of a race, the more points are awarded. The UCI Continental Circuits are a series of road bicycle racing competitions which were introduced in 2005 by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to expand cycling around the world. Oceania Cycling Championships
The Oceania Road Championships are a series of road cycling races held annually to determine the Oceanian champion in each event. The event has been held since 1995 and consists of an elite and under-23 men's and an elite women's road race and time trial. The Oceania Cycling Confederation hosts the events to provide an opportunity for athletes to gain UCI points, and to help selection for national team representation at world championships. Gregory Henderson
Gregory Henderson (born 10 September 1976) is a New Zealand former professional track and road racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2002 and 2017. His career includes winning the scratch race at the 2004 world championships and, in road cycling, winning the points competition at the Tour de Georgia in 2005 and 2008. David McCann (cyclist)
David McCann (born 17 March 1973 in Belfast) is an Ireland, Irish former professional road bicycle racer, who rode in the 1996, 2000 and 2012 Olympic Games. He was the Ireland National Cycling Championships, Irish national road race champion in 2000, 2001 and 2006, and won the Irish national time trial championships a record 6 times (2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2009 & 2010). He last rode for the Synergy Baku Cycling Project, an Azerbaijan-registered UCI Continental team. Biography In 2005, McCann captured the overall title at the Tour de Korea. Timothy Gudsell
Timothy Gudsell (born 17 February 1984) is a retired New Zealand track and road racing cyclist who last rode for the PureBlack Racing team. Gudsell turned professional in 2007 and after retiring in 2012 runs a Cycling tour company. Gudsell was educated at Te Awamutu College in Te Awamutu. While at the college he joined the cycling team racing with Peter Latham where they won the New Zealand Secondary Schools National Cycling Championship Team time trial. Clinton Robert Avery (born 3 December 1987) is a New Zealand racing cyclist, who last rode for the team. Career Avery was the New Zealand National Mountain Bike Champion in 2007. In 2010 rode as a stagiaire for , competing alongside Taylor Phinney and compatriot Jesse Sergent in the Tour of Denmark.
