Russell Van Hout (born 15 June 1976) is an Australian former racing cyclist. He won the Australian national road race title in 2006. He also rode in the 2004 and 2005 Giro d'Italia and won a stage of the 2006 Tour Down Under. Adelaide ( ) is the capital city of South Australia, the state's largest city and the fifth-most populous city in Australia. The International Tour of Hellas is a road bicycle racing stage race. It consists of five stages and is usually held between April and May. The race was first held in 1968 as the ''Antiquities Trophy'', and was later known as the ''Tour of Hellas (or Greece)''. The race was held sporadically from 1968 until 2012. The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) made the race part of the UCI Europe Tour in 2005; the race had previously been held as an amateur event. The race was revived in 2022 as a category 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. The Herald Sun Tour is an Australian professional bicycle race held in Melbourne and provincial Victoria, sanctioned by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The first tour was held in October 1952 as a six-day event. It is now held annually over five days in February. It is named after the ''Herald Sun'', Melbourne's only daily tabloid newspaper. It was originally known as the Sun Tour after ''The Sun News-Pictorial'', and changed its name when ''The Sun News-Pictorial'' merged with '' The Herald'' in 1990. History In 1952 the first general classification winner was Keith Rowley, a Maffra sheep farmer, in a time of 42 h 57 min 55 s. Team Time Trial
A team time trial (TTT) is a road bicycle race in which teams of cyclists race against the clock (see individual time trial for a more detailed description of ITT events). The winning team in a TTT is determined by the comparing the times of (usually) the fourth-finishing rider in each team (though the relevant finish position can be otherwise specified in advance by the race organisers). This means that each team will try to get their first four (at least) riders across the finish line in a tight group: it is actually a disadvantage for any rider to finish far in advance of the fourth rider, as by staying back a faster rider can help the fourth rider to get a quicker time. Where a TTT is part of a stage race, it is necessary for each rider to be given a finish time that can be cumulated into the general classification timings. The Tour of Tasmania is a cycling road race contested annually in Tasmania, Australia. Created in 1996, the race formed part of the calendar of the Union Cycliste International from 1997 to 2002. The race was not contested the 2001, 2003 and 2004, it reappeared in 2005, but was not integrated with the UCI Oceania Tour. The 2019 edition of the race was won by Dylan Sunderland of . Australian National Time Trial Championships
The Australian National Time Trial Championships, are held annually with an event for each category of rider: Men, Women & under 23 riders. The event has been run concurrently with the Australian National Road Race Championships since 2002. The Australian Championships have officially been known as the Scody Australian Open Road Cycling Championships since 1999, taking the name of their main sponsor, but are more commonly referred to as ''The Nationals''. According to Cycling Australia, the under 23 men's time trial championships were introduced in 2001. Gran fondo national championships were introduced in 2016. E-sports made a debut in 2019. The winners of each event are awarded with a symbolic cycling jersey featuring green and yellow stripes, which can be worn by the rider at other time trialling events in the country to show their status as national champion.
