Board games are tabletop games that typically use . These pieces are moved or placed on a pre-marked board (playing surface) and often include elements of table, card, role-playing, and miniatures games as well. Many board games feature a competition between two or more players. To show a few examples: in checkers (British English name 'draughts'), a player wins by capturing all opposing pieces, while Eurogames often end with a calculation of final scores. ''Fluxx'' is a card game, played with a specially designed deck published by Looney Labs. It is different from most other card games, in that the rules and the conditions for winning are altered throughout the game, via cards played by the players. History ''Fluxx'' was created by Andrew Looney on as the first game for his and his wife's part-time game design company, Looney Laboratory. The original print run was for 5,000 units and was released in 1997. The game was successful and was licensed a year later to Iron Crown Enterprises (ICE) for wider distribution. ICE went bankrupt two years later and Looney Labs resumed publication and distribution. ''Dragons of Kir'' is a 2005 strategy board game from Future Magic Games and 1i Productions. ''Dragons of Kir'' is a 2-player strategy game. The object of the game is to create systems of tiles to force one of four Dragons of Kir to destroy an opponent's war tent, while defending one's own. Tiles represent the forces of nature and of man and create a changing landscape. The battlefield is edgeless ("wraparound") for unlimited flow. ''Dragons of Kir'' is a sequel to '' Darter'', winner of the 2005 Origins ''Vanguard Innovative Game Award''. Reception Previous limited edition versions of the game came with handmade wood tiles, the version now available comes on 1/8" card stock. Dragon Booster Trading Card Game
The Dragon Booster Trading Card Game is an out-of-print collectible trading card game based on the animated television series Dragon Booster. The initial card set, Release the Dragon, was released in February 2005 by Score Entertainment. Game summary Two or more players attempt to win a high speed dragon race by either being the first to cross the finish line (of 30 points), or by completely exhausting (emptying) the decks of all rivals. Each player needs two decks, a ''race deck'', and a ''dragon deck''. The race deck is the normal deck from which cards are drawn, while the dragon deck is a pool of cards from which cards can be selected as needed during play. Dragons
A dragon is a reptilian legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide. Beliefs about dragons vary considerably through regions, but dragons in western cultures since the High Middle Ages have often been depicted as winged, horned, and capable of breathing fire. Dragons in eastern cultures are usually depicted as wingless, four-legged, serpentine creatures with above-average intelligence. Commonalities between dragons' traits are often a hybridization of feline, reptilian and avian features. Scholars believe huge extinct or migrating crocodiles bear the closest resemblance, especially when encountered in forested or swampy areas, and are most likely the template of modern Oriental dragon imagery.
