2005 Football League Trophy Final
The 2005 Football League Trophy Final was the 22nd final of the domestic football cup competition for teams from Football Leagues One, Two and The Conference, the Football League Trophy. The final was played at Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on 10 April 2005. The match was contested between Southend United and Wrexham. 2004–05 Football League Trophy
The 2004–05 Football League Trophy, known as the LDV Vans Trophy for sponsorship reasons, was the 22nd season in the history of the competition. A straight knockout competition for English football clubs in the third and fourth tiers of the English football league system. In all, 60 clubs entered the competition. It was split into two sections, Northern and Southern, with the winners of each section contesting the final at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff. Adam Barrett
Adam Nicholas Barrett (born 29 November 1979) is an English former professional footballer who played as a central defender. During his career, which lasted from 1998 to 2017, he made 647 appearances in the Football League, including 308 for Southend United. He is currently a first team coach at Millwall. Born in Dagenham, Barrett began his career with Leyton Orient, but failed to make an appearance for them and moved on to sign for Plymouth Argyle, spending the 1999–2000 season with them. In 2000, he moved to Mansfield Town and then spent two years at Bristol Rovers before joining Southend United in 2004. He helped Southend from League Two to the Championship during a six-year stay at Roots Hall, and played over 250 times for the Club before signing for Crystal Palace in 2010. Steve Tilson
Stephen Brian Tilson (born 27 July 1966) is an English football manager and former player, he is currently the manager of Heybridge Swifts. Tilson is best known for his time in charge of Southend United, where he was in charge for seven years, overseeing two promotions and later two relegations. In 2014, he was voted Southend United's greatest ever player by fans. Lawrie George Dudfield (born 7 May 1980) is an English football coach and former professional player. He played as a striker, making over 300 appearances, most notably in the Premier League for Leicester City and in the Football League for Lincoln City, Chesterfield, Hull City, Northampton Town, Southend United, Boston United and Notts County. Luke Horace Guttridge (born 27 March 1982) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Alan McCormack
Alan McCormack (born 10 January 1984) is an Irish football coach and former professional player who played as a right-back or midfielder. He is an academy coach at club Luton Town. He began his career at Preston North End and later played for Southend United, Charlton Athletic and Swindon Town before signing for Brentford in 2013. Wayne William Gray (born 7 November 1980) is an English professional football forward. He scored 101 goals in 464 league and cup appearances over the course of a 14-year professional career. He started his career with Wimbledon in 1999, leaving the club following its controversial move to Milton Keynes. Carl James Pettefer (born 22 March 1981) is an English footballer, who plays for Wimborne Town. Career Pettefer began his career at Portsmouth, signing his professional papers with then manager Alan Ball in August 1999 when aged 17. He made his full debut for Portsmouth against West Bromwich Albion in the Football League Championship when the club was under the management of Graham Rix. Mark Gower (born 5 October 1978) is a former English footballer, who played for several clubs including Barnet, Southend United and Swansea City.
