2005 Danish Local Elections
The Danish local elections of 2005 were held on 15 November 2005. 2522 Municipalities of Denmark, municipal council members were elected in Denmark's 98 List of municipalities of Denmark, municipalities and 205 regional council members in the Regions of Denmark, five regions. Most of these were newly formed municipalities, namely 66 municipalities, that would only begin working from Monday 1 January 2007, as would the newly formed regions, and one municipality, Ærø Municipality, Ærø, which was also part of the Municipalities of Denmark#Municipal Reform of 2007, reform, which was allowed by the government to commence work for the first time already Sunday 1 January 2006. So the first term of office in ''this'' newly created municipality was the whole period of four years from 2006 until 2009. 2001 Danish Local Elections
The Danish local elections of 2001 were held on 20 November 2001. 4647 municipal council members were elected to 275 municipal councils, as well as members of 14 counties (Danish, ''Amtskommune'' , literally ''County Municipality'') of Denmark. There were 14 counties and 275 municipalities, but the county of Bornholm was merged with its 5 constituent municipalities 1 January 2003 to form ''Bornholm Regional Municipality''. The voters of Bornholm voted in these elections in the soon to be dissolved municipalities and county, but later elected the councillors in a local election 29 May 2002 to lead the newly formed municipality from January 2003. The county and county council of Bornholm just continued its work until 2002 while the new ''Bornholm Regional Municipality'' was being built from the 6 old entities. Folketing
The Folketing ( da, Folketinget, ; ), also known as the Parliament of Denmark or the Danish Parliament in English, is the unicameral national legislature (parliament) of the Kingdom of Denmark—Denmark proper together with the Faroe Islands and Greenland. Established in 1849, until 1953 the Folketing was the lower house of a bicameral parliament, called the Rigsdag; the upper house was Landstinget. It meets in Christiansborg Palace, on the islet of Slotsholmen in central Copenhagen. The Folketing passes all laws, approves the cabinet, and supervises the work of the government. Albertslund Municipality
Albertslund Municipality ( da, Albertslund Kommune) is a municipalities of Denmark, municipality in Region Hovedstaden on the island of Zealand (Denmark), Zealand in eastern Denmark. The municipality covers an area of 23,04 km2, and has a population of 27,780 (1 April 2014). Bornholm
Bornholm () is a Danish island in the Baltic Sea, to the east of the rest of Denmark, south of Sweden, northeast of Germany and north of Poland. Strategically located, Bornholm has been fought over for centuries. It has usually been ruled by Denmark, but also by Sweden and by Lübeck. The ruin of Hammershus, at the northwestern tip of the island, is the largest medieval fortress in northern Europe, testament to the importance of its location. Danish Social Liberal Party
The Danish Social Liberal Party ( da, Radikale Venstre, , Radical Left) is a social-liberal political party in Denmark. The party was founded as a split from the Venstre Reform Party in 1905. Historically, the centrist party has played a central role in Danish politics and has supported governments on both sides of the political spectrum, as co-operation is a primary belief of the party. A pro-European party, it is a member of Liberal International and the ALDE, and has two MEPs in the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament. The Green Left ( da, Socialistisk Folkeparti, SF) is a democratic socialist political party in Denmark. It was formerly known in English as the Socialist People's Party, the literal translation of its Danish name. History 1959–1969 The SF was founded on 15 February 1959 by Aksel Larsen, a former leader of the Communist Party of Denmark (DKP). Larsen was removed from the ranks of the DKP for his criticism over the Soviet intervention in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. Larsen and the new SF sought to form a third way between Denmark's United States-oriented social democracy and Soviet Union–oriented communism, which sought to combine democracy with socialism. Danish People's Party
The Danish People's Party ( da, Dansk Folkeparti, DPP/DF) is a nationalist and right-wing populist political party in Denmark. It was formed in 1995 by former members of the Progress Party (FrP). The DPP lent its support to the Venstre– Conservative People's Party coalition government that ruled from the general election of 2001 until the 2011 election defeat. While not part of the cabinet, DPP cooperated closely with the governing coalition on most issues and received support for key political stances in return, to the point that the government was commonly referred to as the "VKO-government" (O being DPP's election symbol). It also provided parliamentary support to Lars Løkke Rasmussen's cabinets from 2016 to 2019, again without participating in it.
