2005 Arizona Cardinals Season
The 2005 season was the Arizona Cardinals' 86th in the National Football League (NFL), their 107th overall and their 18th in Arizona. The team was unable to improve upon their 6–10 record from the previous season, and failed to make the playoffs for the seventh year in a row. The October 2 game was the first regular season game to be played outside the United States, and was known as NFL Futbol Americano. The game was a Cardinals home game, and the Cardinals defeated their division rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, 31–14. The Cardinals, as a team, had a paltry 1,138 rushing yards in 2005, only 71.1 yards per game. Remarkably, the Cardinals only had one 100-yard rushing game, when they ran for 129 yards in the season finale against the Indianapolis Colts. The 2005 season was the Carolina Panthers' 11th in the National Football League (NFL) and their fourth under head coach John Fox. It was also the team's ninth season at Bank of America Stadium. Keith Rowen
Keith Rowen (born September 2, 1952) is an American football coach. He served as the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals in 2005 until he was fired in October 2006 the day after the Cardinals lost to the Bears after leading by 20 points. He then moved to Atlanta, where he was the Falcons' tight end coach for the 2007 season, before moving to San Francisco for an office job with the Oakland Raiders. As a player, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles as a Guard (gridiron football), guard in the 11th round of the 1975 NFL Draft. Rowen is the son of Vic Rowen, who was the head coach at San Francisco State University from 1961 to 1989. John Idzik, Jr
John Idzik Jr. (born 1961) is a former consultant for the Jacksonville Jaguars of the National Football League (NFL). He is the former general manager of the New York Jets. He was named to the position on January 18, 2013 after spending the previous six seasons in the Seattle Seahawks front office as the vice president of football administration. His father, John Idzik, was also a coach in the NFL (notably he was an assistant coach with the Jets under Walt Michaels) and the CFL. Michael Bidwill
Michael Bidwill (born December 6, 1964) is an American football executive who is the principal owner, chairman, and president of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). After practicing law for six years as a federal prosecutor, he joined the Arizona Cardinals organization in 1996 as Vice President/General Counsel. Bidwill inherited the team from his father, Bill Bidwill, who was at least part-owner from 1962 until his death in 2019. Eric Denaud Green (born March 16, 1982) is a former American football cornerback. He was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Antrel Rocelious Rolle (born December 16, 1982) is a former American football defensive back of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at the University of Miami, where he was recognized as a unanimous All-American, and was drafted by the Arizona Cardinals eighth overall in the 2005 NFL Draft. Torry Jabar Holt (born June 5, 1976) is a former professional American football player who was a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for eleven seasons.
