The 2004–05 Umaglesi Liga was the sixteenth season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 31 July 2004 and ended on 30 May 2005. WIT Georgia were the defending champions. Erovnuli Liga
The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა - lit. National League) is the top division of professional football in Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017 the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight. FC Dinamo Batumi
FC Dinamo Batumi is a Georgian football club based in Batumi, Adjara, and current vice-champion of Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Georgian football system. The club has won the league (2021), the Georgian Cup ( 1997-98) and Super Cup (1997-98, 2022). They have also earned silver medals of the league five times. In 1990 they changed the name to ''FC Batumi'' only to reverse the decision in 1994. Dinamo plays their home matches at Batumi Stadium. History Early period Prior to the formation of this club, there were some other teams existing in the city. In 1923 newly established two clubs called ''Mezgvauri'' (The Sailor) and ''Tsiteli Raindi'' (The Red Knight) merged and became Dinamo Batumi. The 2004–05 Georgian Cup (also known as the ''David Kipiani Cup'') was the sixty-first season overall and fifteenth since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The competition began on 25 August 2004 and ended with the Final held on 26 May 2005. The defending champions are Dinamo Tbilisi. Round of 32 The first legs were played on 25 August and the second legs were played on 3 September 2004. Round of 16 In this round entered winners from the previous round as well as three teams that finished at the top four in last year's Umaglesi Liga: WIT Georgia, Dinamo Tbilisi, FC Tbilisi and Dila Gori. Jaba Dvali (born 8 February 1985) is a Georgian former football player and current manager. He has played in three countries as a forward. He was a main goalscorer at Zestafoni during their "golden time" when the club twice in a row won the national league. Career Dvali started his professional career at Dinamo Tbilisi. Otar Martsvaladze
Otar Martsvaladze ( ka, ოთარ მარცვალაძე; born 14 July 1984) is a former professional Georgian footballer who played for the national team. Career Club Otar Martsvaladze was born in Tbilisi. He spent first four years of his professional career at WIT Georgia, where he secured championship title in 2004. Two years later Martsvaladze was named the best player of the season. He signed for Dynamo Kyiv along with countryman Kakhaber Aladashvili in 2006. In 2014 he returned to Umaglesi Liga and initially joined Dinamo Tbilisi for six months, followed by another year at Dila Gori. His prolific performance was duly appreciated with Otar named among the best three players of the 2014–15 season.
