2004–05 Portsmouth F.C. Season
During the 2004–05 English football season, Portsmouth competed in the FA Premier League. It was Portsmouth's second consecutive season in English football's top-flight. Season summary Portsmouth's campaign got off to a good start, winning four of their first ten games including the famous, brilliant 2–0 win over Manchester United as they maintained a strong mid-table position in late October. However, manager Harry Redknapp walked out on Portsmouth in November after a row with chairman Milan Mandaric over the appointment of new Director of Football Velimir Zajec at the club. Zajec replaced Redknapp as manager with immediate effect, but under his management the club's form dipped, bringing the club from the top ten to a few points above the relegation zone. In April, Zajec was replaced by Frenchman Alain Perrin; Perrin managed to secure Portsmouth's Premiership status with a few games of the season left. Portsmouth ( ) is a port and city in the ceremonial county of Hampshire in southern England. Arjan De Zeeuw
Adrianus Johannes "Arjan" de Zeeuw (born 16 April 1970) is a Dutch former professional Association football, footballer who played as a defender (association football), centre-back. Club career Born in Castricum, North Holland, De Zeeuw started his career at Vitesse '22 in the Dutch amateur leagues, and studied for a degree in medical science whilst playing for the club. At the age of 22, he turned professional and signed for Telstar (football club), Telstar in the Eerste Divisie. In 1995, he considered quitting football after he felt Telstar had priced him out of a move to Eredivisie side FC Utrecht, Utrecht, but decided to stay with the club for one more year. David Unsworth
David Gerald Unsworth (born 16 October 1973) is an English football coach and former professional footballer who is currently the manager of Oldham Athletic. Prior to this, he was most recently academy director and under-23's head coach at Premier League side Everton. As a player, Unsworth played as a centre-back or left-back from 1991 until 2009. Unsworth is best remembered for his time at Everton during the 1990s, where he was part of their FA Cup-winning team of 1995 and acquired the nickname ''"Rhino"''. Linvoy Stephen Primus MBE (born 14 September 1973) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Born in Forest Gate, England, to Caribbean-born parents, Primus began his professional career at Charlton Athletic, where he made four league appearances. Primus moved on a free transfer to Barnet and established himself as a first team regular in the lower divisions of English football before earning a £250,000 transfer to Reading. The England national under-21 football team, also known as England under-21s or England U21(s), is considered to be the feeder team for the England national football team. This team is for England players aged under 21 at the start of the calendar year in which a two-year European Under-21 Football Championship campaign begins, so some players can remain with the squad until the age of 23. Neil Shaka Hislop CM (born 22 February 1969) is a retired footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Born in England, he played for them at under-21 level before representing Trinidad and Tobago at senior international level. The majority of his career was spent in the top division in England where he was a part of the Newcastle United team which finished second in the Premier League for two successive seasons under Kevin Keegan's first tenure.
