2004–05 KML Season
The 2004–05 Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) season was the 80th season of the premier basketball competition for men's teams in Estonia. The season began on 20 October 2004 and ended on 29 May 2005, with BC Kalev, Ehitustööriist defeating University of Tartu men's basketball team, TÜ/Rock four games to three in the KML Finals to win their first Estonian championship. Korvpalli Meistriliiga
The Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) is the top-tier men's basketball league in Estonia. The league is organized by the Estonian Basketball Association and played under rules of basketball#International Rules of Basketball, FIBA rules. The competition was founded in 1925. From the 1998–99 season until the end of the 2001–02 season the league was organized by the Eesti Korvpalliklubide Assotsiatsioon (English: Estonian Basketball Clubs' Association). As of the 2018–19 season, Estonian-Latvian Basketball League regular season games count towards the KML standings, followed by KML Play-offs. The most successful team in the competition is University of Tartu men's basketball team, Tartu Ülikool (University of Tartu), with 26 titles. Tarmo Kikerpill
Tarmo Kikerpill (born June 13, 1977) is a retired Estonian professional basketball player. He is 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in) in height and he played at the small forward or Power forward (basketball), power forward position. Pro career Kikerpill started his professional basketball career in 1994 with Tartu Ülikool/Rock in the Korvpalli Meistriliiga, Estonian League. He won four Estonian League Championships with the team. In 2005, he moved abroad for the first time, joining the Dominet Bank Ekstraliga, Polish League club Czarni Słupsk, Energy Czarn Slupsk. After a brief return to Tartu Ülikool/Rock for the 2006–2007 season, Kikerpill re-joined Czarni Słupsk, Energy Czarn Slupsk, where he spent the 2007–2008 season. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the Basketball positions, five positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position and is usually the shortest player on the court. Point guards are expected to control the pace of the game. Gert Dorbek
Gert Dorbek (born 10 June 1985) is an Estonian retired basketball player. He is a tall shooting guard. He has also represented the Estonian national basketball team internationally. Professional career Dorbek began playing basketball in Tiit Sokk's basketball school. He began his professional career in 2002 with Nybit of the Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). In 2003, Dorbek signed for TTÜ/A. Le Coq. TTÜ/A. Le Coq finished the 2003–04 season in third place. After the season, the club dissolved due to financial and ownership struggles. In 2004, Dorbek joined Tallinna Kalev. The team finished the 2004–05 season in third place. Dorbek averaged 16.11 points per game and was named KML Best Young Player. After the season, Kalev too was hit by financial problems and dissolved. In 2005, Dorbek signed for the Estonian champions Kalev/Cramo. He won his first Estonian Championship in the 2005–06 season.
