BC Kalev, known as BC Kalev/Cramo for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Tallinn, Estonia. The team plays in the Korvpalli Meistriliiga, the Estonian-Latvian Basketball League and the FIBA Europe Cup. They play their home games at the Kalev Sports Hall and Saku Suurhall. Kalev/Cramo have won 12 Estonian Championships, 8 Estonian Cups and 1 Latvian-Estonian Basketball League title. History Early years (1998–2005) Founded in 1998, the club started out as Canon ENM. Coached by Allan Dorbek the team joined top-tier Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) for the 1998–99 season. Rapla KK
Rapla KK, also known as Avis Utilitas Rapla for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Rapla, Estonia. The team plays in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League. Their home arena is the Sadolin Sports Hall. History In 1996, Korvpalliklubi Rapla (Basketball Club Rapla) was founded as a division of the Rapla Sports School. Rapla Korvpallikool (Rapla Basketball School) was formed in 2004. In 2010, Rapla moved to the new Sadolin Sports Hall and were promoted to the top-tier Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). Coached by Indrek Ruut, they finished the 2010–11 regular season in sixth place and reached the playoffs, where they were eliminated in the quarterfinals by TTÜ/Kalev, losing the series 1 game to 3. Thomas Van Der Mars
Thomas van der Mars (born 15 November 1990) is a Dutch professional basketball player for Heroes Den Bosch of the BNXT League. Standing at 6 ft 10 in (2.08 m), he usually plays as center. Early career A native of Gouda, van der Mars played for Canarias Basketball Academy in Spain. College Thomas van der Mars played four years at Portland, averaging 13.5 pts and 7.2 rebs as a junior and 10.4 pts and 8.0 rebs as a senior. The 2016–17 Korvpalli Meistriliiga season (also known as the Alexela Korvpalli Meistriliiga for sponsorship reasons) was the 92nd season of top-tier basketball in Estonia. Brian Cusworth
Brian Cusworth (born March 9, 1984) is a retired American professional basketball player. Early life and career Brian Cusworth started playing basketball at the age of nine in 1993 in his hometown St. Louis. After graduating high school he went to study at Harvard University (from which he graduated with a degree in biology in 2006) and played NCAA basketball at Harvard Crimson team for three seasons. Professional career In 2007, he went to play in Europe and signed a deal with Estonian top team Tartu Ülikool/Rock. He was one of the team's top performers during the season and helped Rock to FIBA EuroCup semifinals. He also won the Estonian National Championship with the team. The 2007–08 SEB Korvpalli Meistriliiga is the 17th season of the Estonian basketball league and the fourth under the title sponsorship of SEB. Including the competition's previous incarnations, this is the 83rd season of the Estonian men's basketball league. TÜ/Rock came into the season as defending champions of the 2006–07 KML season. The season started on 3 October 2007 and concluded on 21 May 2008 with TÜ/Rock defeating Tallinna Kalev/Cramo 4 games to 0 in the 2008 KML Finals to win their 24th Estonian League title.
