During the 2004–05 season, League 2, which is in fact the third tier of the Iranian football league system, was organised in two groups each of ten teams. At the end of the season, Shahrdari Langarud and Pegah Khozestan were promoted to the Azadegan League as group winners. Iran Football's 2nd Division
Iranian football's 2nd division ( fa, ليگ دسته دوم ایران) is the third-highest football division overall in the Iranian football league system. Before 2001, the 2nd division league was the second-highest division in Iranian football league system, however, this was changed to third-highest division when Iran's football structure officially became professional. The league consists of two, fourteen team groups who play each other twice in a home and away format. The first and second placed teams in each group are automatically promoted to the Azadegan League. The bottom two teams in both groups are automatically relegated to the 3rd division. If teams in the promotion or relegation spots are tied in terms of points, a home and away series will be played. The team with the best aggregate score will either avoid relegation or win promotion. 2004–05 Iran Pro League
The 2004–05 Iran Pro League was the 22nd season of Iran's Football League and fourth as Iran Pro League since its establishment in 2001. PAS Tehran were the defending champions. The season featured 14 teams from the 2003–04 Iran Pro League and two new teams promoted from the 2003–04 Azadegan League: Saba Battery as champions and Malavan as runner-up. The league started on 13 September 2004 and ended on 20 June 2005. Foolad won the Pro League title for the first time in their history (total first Iranian title). The Hazfi Cup 2004–05 was the 18th staging of Iran's football knockout competition organized annually by the Football Federation Islamic Republic of Iran. Ekbatan Town ( fa, شهرک اکباتان, ) is a planned town in western Tehran, Iran. It is located approximately five kilometers west of central Tehran. Etymology The town is named after Ecbatana, the capital city of the ancient Median Empire around 700 BC.
