The 2004 Tranzam Sports Sedan Series was an Australian motor racing competition open to Sports Sedans and Trans Am type cars. The series was administered by the National Australian Sports Sedan Association and was sanctioned by CAMS as a National Series. Oran Park Grand Prix Circuit
Oran Park Raceway was a motor racing circuit at Narellan south west of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia which was operational from February 1962 until its closure in January 2010. The track was designed and started by George Murray and Jack Allen. Since its closure in 2010 it has been developed into housing. History The circuit was established by the Singer Car Club, with its opening meeting held on the weekend of 17–18 February 1962. The land for the circuit was provided by wealthy Camden grazier Dan Cleary, who also ran an earthmoving business, which provided the equipment used to help build the circuit. A motorcycle race meeting was held on 17 February 1963, with reigning Grand Prix Champion Jim Redman being the star attraction. The Alfa Romeo Alfetta (Type 116) is a front-engine, five-passenger sedan and fastback coupé manufactured and marketed by Alfa Romeo from 1972 to 1987 with a production total over 400,000. Tony Ricciardello
Tony Ricciardello, (born 19 March 1979), is a multiple-championship winning Australian race car driver. Son of Sports Sedan racer and team owner Basil Ricciardello, Tony was brought up into the Western Australian racing scene. He eventually replaced Brian Smith as the driver of the Ricciardello Racing, Chevrolet V8 powered, space-frame constructed, Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV bodied Sports Sedan in the national series. Ricciardello has won the national series seven times, the all-time record for the category, and has finished inside the top three positions in each of the thirteen series which he contested. Ricciardello is one of just two drivers to win a title seven times in the same class of Australian bitumen-surface circuit racing. Ricciardello has also raced in the V8 Supercar category.
