Individual Speedway Junior World Championship
The Speedway Under-21 World Championship is an annual speedway event held each year organized by the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) since 1977. As of 2022, the title was awarded to the winner of the SGP2 category at the FIM Speedway World Championship. History Between 1977 and 1987 the Championship was the called Individual Speedway Junior European Championship (European Speedway Under 21 Championship), open only to European riders. In 1979, the Championship allowed riders from other continents to compete, but was renamed to the Speedway World Under 21 Championship in 1988. A new competition was named Individual Speedway Junior European Championship was founded by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) in 1998, only open to European competitors. Krzysztof Kasprzak
Krzysztof Kasprzak (; born 18 July 1984 in Leszno, Poland) is an international speedway rider who became World Under-21 Champion in 2005 and won the silver medal during the 2014 Speedway Grand Prix. He also won five World team titles. He is a son of former Polish national speedway team member Zenon Kasprzak. Brother Robert is also a speedway rider. Career summary Kasprzak became the European Champion in 2003 after winning the 2003 Individual Speedway European Championship. He also made his British speedway debut after joining Poole Pirates. Paweł Hlib (born 20 February 1986 in Poland) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Poland. Career Hlib won the Team Speedway Junior World Championship in 2005, 2006 and 2007 and became the Individual Polish Under-21 Champion in 2007. In December 2008, he joined the Poland national team. Hlib stated that he would like to join the German team because he has German citizenship as well. He returned to ride in Poland during 2019, for Wilki Krosno. It was his final season in Poland. Christian Hefenbrock born (15 May 1985 in Kyritz, Germany) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Germany. Career He first rode in the United Kingdom for the Wolverhampton Wolves in the Elite League in 2006. It was in 2006 that he became the German champion after winning the German Individual Speedway Championship. In 2007, he was signed by the Lakeside Hammers but was replaced mid season when one of their own assets was made available. Eric Andersson (born 15 June 1984) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden. Career Andersson came to prominence when he reached the final of the 2004 Speedway Under-21 World Championship. In 2006, he joined the Oxford Cheetahs to ride in the 2006 Elite League speedway season. The following season he resigned for the Cheetahs but the club withdrew from the league but Andersson continued to ride for Rospiggarna In Sweden and in Grudziądz in Poland. He rode one heat in 2007 Speedway Grand Prix of Sweden, when he replaced injured Wiesław Jaguś in Heat 19. After finishing his career in Britain Andersson concentrated on the Team Speedway Polish Championship and rode from 2010 to 2014 for Kolejarz Rawicz in the Polish Speedway First League and Polish Speedway Second League respectively. Jonas Davidsson (born 7 August 1984 in Motala, Sweden) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden and he was a member of Swedish national team. Career Davidsson came to prominence after reaching three World Under 21 finals in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He also won the Swedish Junior Speedway Championship in 2005. He signed for his first British team Reading Racers for the 2003 Premier League speedway season and his first Polish team Zielona Góra in 2006. In 2008, Davidsson experienced arguably his fineest career achievement when he won a bronze medal representing Sweden at the 2008 Speedway World Cup. It was also in 2008 that he joined the Lakeside Hammers in the Elite League. He would go on spend five seasons with the club and win the Elite League Knockout Cup in 2009. Jan Fredrik Tobias (Freddie) Lindgren (born 15 September 1985) is a Swedish motorcycle speedway rider. He has twice won the bronze medal at the Speedway World Championship and won the world team championships in 2015. Career Born in Örebro, Sweden. Lindgren's father Tommy was a speedway rider before him, and his younger brother Ludvig also rides. Lindgren first appeared for Wolverhampton Wolves during the 2003 season as the team struggled with injuries. At the age of just 17, Freddie made his debut for the team and impressed enough to be brought back the following season when again injuries hit the club. In 2005, he moved over to full-time and averaged 7.44 for Wolves in his debut full season and in 2006 he improved to average 8.12.
