Jonas Davidsson
Jonas Davidsson (born 7 August 1984 in Motala, Sweden) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Sweden and he was a member of Swedish national team. Career Davidsson came to prominence after reaching three World Under 21 finals in 2003, 2004 and 2005. He also won the Swedish Junior Speedway Championship in 2005. He signed for his first British team Reading Racers for the 2003 Premier League speedway season and his first Polish team Zielona Góra in 2006. In 2008, Davidsson experienced arguably his fineest career achievement when he won a bronze medal representing Sweden at the 2008 Speedway World Cup. It was also in 2008 that he joined the Lakeside Hammers in the Elite League. He would go on spend five seasons with the club and win the Elite League Knockout Cup in 2009. He continued to ride in Poland after his British career came to an end and last raced in 2019 for Krosno. Motala
Motala () is a locality and the seat of Motala Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden with 29,823 inhabitants (41,956 in the entire municipality) in 2010. It is the third largest city of Östergötland, following Linköping and Norrköping. The Elite League Knockout Cup was a speedway Knockout Cup competition in the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2012. History It was governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB) in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). The teams from the top division of league racing, the Elite League, took part. Elite League (speedway)
The Elite League was the top division of speedway league competition in the United Kingdom, governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). It was sponsored by Sky Sports until the end of the 2013 season. In 2016, the Elite League featured 8 teams, unlike 10 in 2014, during a season which ran between March and October. Each team had a designated race day on which they normally staged their home fixtures, and they regularly had home and away fixtures scheduled in the same week. Sweden are one of the major teams in international speedway. They have been managed by Mats Olsson, who is currently in his 2nd spell, since 2005 after he quit in 2000.
