2004 Paris Masters
The 2004 Paris Masters (also known as the '' BNP Paribas Masters'' for sponsorship reasons) was a men's tennis tournament held at the Palais omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France and played on indoor carpet courts. It was the 32nd edition of the Paris Masters, and was part of the 2004 ATP Masters Series. The tournament was held from 1 November to 8 November 2004. Russia's Marat Safin defeated Czech Radek Štěpánek in the final to win the singles title, his third at the event after 2000 and 2002. The ATP Masters 1000 tournaments (previously known as ATP Masters Series) is an annual series of nine tennis tournaments featuring the top-ranked players on the ATP Tour. A carpet court is a type of tennis court. The International Tennis Federation describes the surface as a "textile or polymeric material supplied in rolls or sheets of finished product." It is one of the fastest court types, second only to grass courts. The use of carpet courts in ATP Tour competitions ended in 2009. In women's tennis, no WTA Tour tournaments have used carpet courts since the last edition of the Tournoi de Québec in 2018. Jonas Björkman
Jonas Lars Björkman (; born 23 March 1972) is a Swedish former professional tennis player. He is a former world No. 1 in doubles, and also a former world No. 4 in singles. Björkman retired from professional tennis after competing at the 2008 Tennis Masters Cup doubles championships. Todd Andrew Woodbridge, OAM (born 2 April 1971) is an Australian former professional tennis player and current sports broadcaster with the Nine Network. Woodbridge is best known for his successful Doubles partnerships with Mark Woodforde (nicknamed "The Woodies") and later Jonas Björkman.
