2004 Caribbean Series
The forty-sixth edition of the Caribbean Series (''Serie del Caribe'') was held from February 1 through February 6 of with the champion baseball teams of the Dominican Republic, Tigres del Licey; Mexico, Tomateros de Culiacán; Puerto Rico, Leones de Ponce, and Venezuela, Tigres de Aragua. The format consisted of 12 games, each team facing the other teams twice, and the games were played at Estadio Quisqueya in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The Caribbean Series (''Spanish'': ''Serie del Caribe''), also called Caribbean World Series, is the highest tournament for professional baseball teams in Latin America. The tournament location is rotated annually among the countries and is normally played in February after all of the leagues have ended their national tournaments. Luis Ordaz
Luis Javier Ordaz (born August 12, 1975), is a former Major League Baseball utility infielder and current hitting coach for the Potomac Nationals. Ordaz played for the St. Louis Cardinals (1997–1999), Kansas City Royals (2000–2002) and Tampa Bay Devil Rays (2006). He bats and throws right-handed. In a six-season career, Ordaz posted a .219 hitter with 30 RBI and no home runs in 205 games played. In 2013, Ordaz, was the hitting coach for the Class-A Auburn Doubledays. In 2014, Ordaz became the hitting coach for the South Atlantic League Hagerstown Suns. In the 2018 season, he was the hitting coach for the Potomac Nationals (Class A - Advanced). José Offerman
José Antonio Offerman Dono (born November 8, 1968) is a Dominican retired professional baseball player who played professional baseball for nearly 20 years. He played for 15 seasons in Major League Baseball and played four seasons of Independent league baseball, independent and Mexican League baseball after leaving MLB. He most recently managed the Licey Tigers of the Dominican Winter League, leading them to the 2008–2009 and 2013–2014 Dominican Winter League Championship. During a baseball game on January 16, 2010, Offerman attacked an umpire during an argument and, as a result, was banned from the Winter League for three years. He managed the Rojos del Águila de Veracruz of the Mexican League in 2014. Home Run
In baseball, a home run (abbreviated HR) is scored when the ball is hit in such a way that the batter is able to circle the bases and reach home plate safely in one play without any errors being committed by the defensive team. Luis López (infielder)
Luis Manuel López Santos (born September 4, 1970) is a Puerto Rican former Major League Baseball utility infielder. He is currently the hitting coach for the Greenville Drive, a Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox. Career López was signed as a free agent by the San Diego Padres in and did not make his major league debut until September 7, 1993. López became a free agent after the season, but re-signed with the Padres. He made his only postseason appearance in 1996 in the NLDS against the St. Louis Cardinals, but did not get an at bat. On March 15, 1997, López was traded to the Houston Astros for Sean Runyan, but just 16 days later was traded to the New York Mets for Tim Bogar. In baseball, a triple is the act of a batter safely reaching third base after hitting the ball, with neither the benefit of a fielder's misplay (see error) nor another runner being put out on a fielder's choice. In baseball statistics, a hit (denoted by H), also called a base hit, is credited to a batter when the batter safely reaches or passes first base after hitting the ball into fair territory with neither the benefit of an error nor a fielder's choice. In baseball, a run is scored when a player advances around first, second and third base and returns safely to home plate, touching the bases in that order, before three outs are recorded and all obligations to reach base safely on batted balls are met or assured. A player may score by hitting a home run or by any combination of plays that puts him safely "on base" (that is, on first, second, or third) as a runner and subsequently brings him home.
