Raúl González (baseball)
Victor Raúl González (born December 27, 1973) is a former professional baseball outfielder. He batted and threw right-handed. Career Drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 17th round of the 1990 Major League Baseball Draft, González made his major league debut for the Chicago Cubs on May 25, . In , he played for the New York Mets' Triple-A affiliate, the New Orleans Zephyrs where he batted .279 in 17 games before being released. He then signed with the independent Newark Bears of the Atlantic League. He hit .313 with Newark with 8 home runs and 35 RBI. Following the arrest of Major League Baseball player, Miguel Cabrera, on February 15, 2010, González was chosen as Cabrera's "companion" in order to help the slugger abstain from alcohol and other such activities detrimental to his baseball career. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). These numbers are shorthand designations useful in baseball scorekeeping and are not necessarily the same as the squad numbers worn on player uniforms. Miguel Cabrera
José Miguel Cabrera Torres (born April 18, 1983), nicknamed "Miggy", is a Venezuelan professional baseball first baseman and designated hitter for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Since his debut in 2003 he has been a two-time American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) award winner, a four-time AL batting champion, and a 12-time MLB All-Star. He has played at first and third base for most of his major league career, but primarily played left and right field before 2006.
