2004 Argentine Professional Golf Tour
The 2004 Argentine Professional Golf Tour was a season of golf tournaments on the Argentine Professional Golf Tour (TAPG), the then official professional golf tour of Argentina. The season ran from the end of January to the beginning of December, and consisted of 13 tournaments. The Order of Merit was won by José Cóceres, ahead of Ángel Cabrera in second, and Rafael Echenique in third. Golf
Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible. Carlos Franco
Carlos Daniel Franco (born 24 May 1965) is a Paraguayan professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He is the brother of golfer Ángel Franco. Franco was born in Asunción, Paraguay. He comes from a poor background and grew up in a one-room, dirt-floor home. His father was a greenkeeper and caddie, and he has five brothers, all of whom became golf professionals. Carlos turned professional in 1986 and has played in many parts of the world. He has won more than twenty tournaments in Latin America, and from 1994 to 1999 he won five times on the Japan Golf Tour. He also won the 1994 Philippine Open title on the Asia Golf Circuit and claimed the Order of Merit title that season. He first played on the U.S.-based PGA Tour in 1999 and was fully exempt until 2006. The Argentine Open or Abierto de la República or Abierto de Argentina is one of the oldest national golf open championships. Rubén Alvarez
Rubén Alvarez (30 May 1961 – 9 November 2014) was an Argentine professional golfer. Alvarez was born in Pilar, Buenos Aires. He worked as a caddie in Buenos Aires, before turning professional in 1986. Alvarez won the Argentine Qualifying School in 1986, and went on to win the Argentine Tour Ranking (Order of Merit) in 1991, but he only competed once in a major championships, the British Open in 1994. He competed on the Challenge Tour in 1991, with a best of two second-place finishes, the Ramlösa Open and the Jede Hot Cup, both held in Sweden. He competed on the European Tour from 1993 to 1995, and had two top ten finishes, coming 9th in both the 1994 Tenerife Open and the 1995 Madeira Island Open. Alvarez represented Argentina on two occasions in the World Cup, 1991 in Rome, Italy and 1992 in Madrid, Spain. He was second in the San Pablo Open (Brazil) in 1990. Alvarez died of cancer in 2014. Fabián Eduardo Gómez (born 27 October 1978) is an Argentine professional golfer who has played on a number of the world's golf tours including the PGA Tour, Nationwide Tour, PGA Tour Latinoamérica and the Tour de las Americas. Career Gómez was born in Resistencia, Argentina. He has had three wins on the Tour de las Americas, in addition to three other wins on the Argentine TPG Tour. He placed second at the Chaco Open in 2006, the TLA Players Championship in 2006 and the Venezuela Open in 2007. He won TPG Tour Ranking in 2009. Rodolfo González (golfer)
Rodolfo González (born 1 February 1967) is an Argentine professional golfer. González was born in Buenos Aires. He worked as a caddie in Ranelagh Golf Club, Buenos Aires, before turning professional in 1989. González won the Argentine Tour Ranking in 1999. He competed on the Challenge Tour from 2005 to 2009 and his best finishes were third place in the Costa Rica Open in 2005, fourth in the Guatemala Open in 2007 and the Argentine Open 2008. He also competed on the European Tour in 2000 and 2006-08. González represented Argentina on one occasion in the qualifying World Cup, in 2008. In 2003 he won the Argentine Open.
