2003 Swedish Touring Car Championship
The 2003 Swedish Touring Car Championship season was the 8th Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) season. In total eight racing weekends at four different circuits were held; each round comprising two races, making a sixteen-round competition in total. Changes for 2003 * The Supertouring regulations were removed and replaced with Super2000. * The pitstops were also removed * Each round were to consist of two races, with one sprint race of 15–25 minutes and one super-race approximately 15–30 minutes longer. * Qualifying was conducted by having a standard qualifying session followed by a one-lap Superpole for the 8 fastest drivers. * The top 15 finishers were awarded points: 20-17-15-13-11-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1. Swedish Touring Car Championship
Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) was a touring car racing series based in Sweden, but also with rounds in Norway. They began operating in 1996, heavily influenced by the British Touring Car Championship and the success of BTCC racing on Swedish television. There are also a number of support classes that compete with their races alongside STCC; Radical Sportscars, Radical, the Camaro Cup, Superkart, Pro Superbike, the JTCC and the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia. The final STCC season was in 2010, as the series merged with the Danish Touringcar Championship to form the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. Rules The cars are built according to the Super 2000 rules used in the FIA WTCC. A national counterpart, N2000, also exists to encourage teams to build their own cars without having to have them homologated by FIA. Roger Möen
Roger Moen (born 11 April 1966, in Fetsund) is a Norwegian retired auto racing driver. He is best known for his two different spells racing in the British Touring Car Championship. He first raced in British Saloons, winning his class in the National Saloon 2000 championship with seven wins in 1996, and finished as runner-up in 1997. In 1998 he drove in the BTCC for the Michelin Cup for Independents, in a Honda Accord for Mardi Gras Motorsport. He drove in the first fourteen of the twenty-six rounds, finishing fifth in the independents cup and twenty-first overall with one championship point. He returned to the BTCC in 2001, racing a full season in the production class for HTML in a Peugeot 306. He ended the year finishing third in class and became the first ever Production Class entry to win the race overall, in round nineteen at Oulton Park, when the Production Class cars had a one lap head start on the Touring Class. Mantorp Park
Mantorp Park is a motor racing circuit near the town of Mantorp in Mjölby Municipality, Sweden. The circuit was built in 1969 with finance from BP Sweden as a permanent road course and a drag strip. Mantorp Park is capable of four different layouts, but today only the short and long tracks are used. The European Formula Two Championship visited from 1971 until 1973, and again in 1981 and 1982.
