Roger Moen
Roger Moen (born 11 April 1966, in Fetsund) is a Norwegian retired auto racing driver. He is best known for his two different spells racing in the British Touring Car Championship. He first raced in British Saloons, winning his class in the National Saloon 2000 championship with seven wins in 1996, and finished as runner-up in 1997. In 1998 he drove in the BTCC for the Michelin Cup for Independents, in a Honda Accord for Mardi Gras Motorsport. He drove in the first fourteen of the twenty-six rounds, finishing fifth in the independents cup and twenty-first overall with one championship point. He returned to the BTCC in 2001, racing a full season in the production class for HTML in a Peugeot 306. He ended the year finishing third in class and became the first ever Production Class entry to win the race overall, in round nineteen at Oulton Park, when the Production Class cars had a one lap head start on the Touring Class. Fetsund
Fetsund forms the center of the municipality Lillestrøm Viken, Norway. The name comes from the local geography, ''Fet'' means "where water meets grass". As for the ''-sund'' part, it simply means 'strait, inlet'. Accordingly, Fetsund is located at the strait of Glomma, Norway's largest river, just before it enters Øyeren nature reservation, and this is the place the logging industry in years past pulled the logs out of the water for transport to steam sawmills. Today, Fetsund and its surrounding areas is a small town and is mainly a residential area with very little industry. The old log industry is gone, but its buildings and site is still preserved as a national museum, Fetsund Lenser. Fetsund's close proximity to Lillestrøm and the nation's capital, Oslo, have been contributing to the fact that the town has grown much larger in recent years. Donington Park
Donington Park is a motorsport circuit located near Castle Donington in Leicestershire, England. The circuit business is now owned by Jonathan Palmer's MotorSport Vision organisation, and the surrounding Donington Park Estate, still owned by the Wheatcroft family, is currently under lease by MotorSport Vision until 2038. It has a capacity of 120,000, and is also the venue of the Download Festival. Originally part of the Donington Hall estate, it was created as a racing circuit during the period between the First and Second World Wars when the German Silver Arrows were battling for the European Championship. Mondello Park
Mondello Park is Ireland's only international motorsport venue and is located in Caragh, County Kildare off the R409 regional road, approximately from Dublin city centre. History The Mondello Park short circuit was designed on farmland near Naas in Co Kildare by Stuart Cosgrave in 1966, following the demise of the Dunboyne motor races on traditional and dangerous roads in Co Meath. The circuit opened in 1968, and was extended via the National Loop the following year. Well-known Irish drivers such as Derek Daly, David Kennedy, Tommy Byrne and Eddie Jordan cut their teeth on the circuit in the 1970s and early 1980s, going on to international fame, but financial difficulties emerged thereafter. 2001 British Touring Car Championship Season
The 2001 theAA.com MSA British Touring Car Championship season was the 44th British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) season and marked the beginning of a new era of lower-cost rules and regulations for the series. The season saw a rivalry between Vauxhall teammates Jason Plato and Yvan Muller for the title. Knockhill Racing Circuit
Knockhill Racing Circuit is a motor racing circuit in Fife, Scotland. It opened in September 1974 and is Scotland's national motorsport centre. The circuit is located in the countryside about north of Dunfermline. It is the only FIA approved circuit in Scotland. History The circuit opened in September 1974. It was created by joining service roads to a nearby disused mineral railway, closed in 1951, which served Lethans Colliery. The first car race was held on 18 May 1975. Snetterton Circuit is a motor racing course in Norfolk, England, originally opened in 1953. Croft Circuit is a motor racing circuit located near Dalton-on-Tees in North Yorkshire, England. The tarmac circuit is long and is based on the lands of an airfield, but has long since moved on from being a basic airfield circuit.
