The 2003 Swedish Golf Tour, titled as the 2003 Telia Tour for sponsorship reasons, was the 20th season of the Swedish Golf Tour, the main professional golf tour in Sweden since it was formed in 1984, with most tournaments being incorporated into the Nordic Golf League since 1999. Leif Westerberg
Leif Westerberg (born 28 August 1974) is a Swedish professional golfer. Westerberg was born in Stockholm and turned professional in 1997. He has played predominantly on Europe's second tier Challenge Tour where he has won two tournaments. He has graduated from the Challenge Tour twice, in 2004 and 2007, when he finished 7th and 5th respectively on the end of season rankings. Both in 2005 and 2008 he failed to win enough money to retain his card on the top level European Tour, although he came through qualifying school in 2005 to regain his playing status for the 2006 season, when he finished a career high of 131st on the Order of Merit. Christian Nilsson (golfer)
Christian Lars Nilsson (born 25 May 1979) is a Swedish former professional golfer. Professional career Nilsson was born in Karlstad, Sweden. He turned professional in 1999 with a plus 3 handicap. Nilsson played on the Challenge Tour full-time since 2004, playing few events before then. His first event on the European Tour was the 2005 Open Championship where he missed the cut. His first full season on the European Tour was 2006, and his second in 2007. In 2008 he played on both the Challenge and European Tours with his best finish a runner-up to David Dixon at the Saint-Omer Open, but he did not break through until 2009 at the same event. At the 2009 Saint-Omer Open in June, a week opposite the U.S. Open, Nilsson won his first European Tour event by 6 strokes over Portugal's José-Filipe Lima. Fredrik Henge
Fredrik Henge (born 30 December 1974) is a Swedish professional golfer. Henge was born in Lund and turned professional in 1997. He has earned his place on the top level European Tour several times, the first via qualifying school at the end of 1997 and twice by his position on the Challenge Tour Rankings but has failed to win enough money on each occasion to retain his card. Henge has had most of his success on the second tier Challenge Tour, where he has won five tournaments, two in both 1997 and 2000, when he finished seventh on the end of season rankings, and one in 2004. His best finish on the European Tour was tied 7th at the 2006 Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, Perthshire, Scotland. Eric Carlberg (born 28 August 1974) is a Swedish professional golfer. Carlberg won the Ramlösa Open on the Challenge Tour in 1994 as an amateur. He played on the Challenge Tour 1995–2002. Johan Axgren
Bengt Johan Axgren (born 5 March 1975) is a Sweden, Swedish professional golfer. Axgren was born in Gothenburg. He turned professional in 1995. Axgren has won four times on the Challenge Tour, the first in 1996, and then once in 2004 and twice more in 2006 Challenge Tour, 2006, when he finished second on the end of season money list, to graduate to the PGA European Tour, European Tour for the 2007 season. Euan Little
Euan Little (born 28 April 1976) is a Scottish professional golfer. Career Little turned professional in 1996 having represented Scotland as an amateur. Having reached the final stage of qualifying school that year, he played qualified for the Challenge Tour and played steadily at that level for the next five seasons, finishing runner-up twice, before claiming his first win in 2001 at the Segura Viudas Challenge de España. At the end of 2001 Little returned to the qualifying school and gained a place on the European Tour for 2002. After a difficult first season he returned successfully to the school in 2003, but once again failed to retain his status, despite recording a second Challenge Tour win, and returned to the Challenge Tour full-time for 2004. In recent years Little's form has slumped further, and he has made only occasional appearances on either tour since 2008. Västerås Open
The Västerås Open was a golf tournament on the Swedish Golf Tour that featured on the Challenge Tour 1990–1994. It was played in Västerås, Sweden. The Kentab Open was first played as an amateur tournament at Västerås GC in 1978, and it was added to the Swedish Golf Tour in 1986. Starting in 1998 the tournament began rotating between Västerås GC, Frösåker G&CC, Ängsö GC and Fullerö GC. In 2007 Västerås Municipality became the main sponsor and it was rebranded the ''Västerås Mälarstaden Open''. 2003 Challenge Tour
The 2003 Challenge Tour was the 15th season of the Challenge Tour, the official development tour to the European Tour. The tour started as the Satellite Tour with its first Order of Merit rankings in 1989 and was officially renamed as the Challenge Tour at the start of the 1990 season. The Challenge Tour Rankings were won by Sweden's Johan Edfors. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2003 season. Titch Moore
Trevor Richard "Titch" Moore (born 18 February 1976) is a South African professional golfer. He currently plays on the Sunshine Tour, where he has won seven times between 2000 and 2007. Moore was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He turned pro in 1997 and joined the Sunshine Tour in that same year. Skandia PGA Open
The Swedish PGA Championship for men is a golf tournament played annually in Sweden since 1970. It has been an event on the Swedish Golf Tour schedule since 1984 and the Nordic Golf League since 1999. History From its beginning in 1970, it was a championship for members of the PGA of Sweden. Since 1986, the tournament has been open to foreign players. The tournament was part of the Challenge Tour from 1990 to 1996 and from 2001 to 2005.
