2003 LG Cup (Nigeria)
The LG Cup Four Nations is an exhibition association football tournament that took place in Nigeria. Participants The participants were: * Cameroon B * * * Results Semifinals ---- Third place match ---- Iran waited for 35 minutes on the pitch, while Ghana did not show up at all, apparently demanding prize money for the fourth place finishers (uncommon in LG tournaments). Eventually Iran left, without obtaining any information from the Nigerian 'organisers'. One day later, the Nigerian FA awarded Ghana third place (and the relevant prize money) because Iran had left the pitch (sic!). Iran have understandably protested. Abuja
Abuja () is the capital and eighth most populous city of Nigeria. Patrick Agyemang
Patrick Agyemang (born 29 September 1980) is a former professional footballer who played as a forward. Agyemang began his career at Wimbledon, progressing through the club's youth system. He was loaned out to Brentford in October 1999 for three months, before returning to his parent club. Agyemang played regularly for Wimbledon, making 137 appearances and scoring 22 goals over the next four seasons. With Wimbledon struggling financially, he was sold to First Division club Gillingham in January 2004, spending ten months with the club before signing for Preston North End in November 2004 for a fee of £350,000. He spent four seasons at Preston, scoring 21 times in 135 appearances, before joining Queens Park Rangers in 2008. Ahmed Garba (born 24 May 1980), commonly known as Yaro Yaro, is a Nigerian football manager and former player, who played as a striker. Career Garba was a member of the Nigeria national team at the 1998 Carlsberg Cup. In 1997, he was reportedly offered a four-year contract by a Borussia Dortmund II. However, the Nigerian Football Association did not allow the transfer from Kano Pillars to go through. In 2012, Garba joined Nigerian Premier League club Wikki Tourists F.C. Joseph Michael Yobo (born 6 September 1980) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a centre back. He was the captain of the Nigerian national team until his international football retirement in June 2014, and was Nigeria's record appearance holder. In February 2020, he was appointed assistant coach of the Super Eagles by the Nigeria Football Federation. Early years Yobo's birthplace and origin is Kono, an Ogoni community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, Nigeria. Yobo left Nigeria to join Standard Liège in 1998. Patrick Hervé Suffo Kengné (born 17 January 1978) is a Cameroonian former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Striker (association football), striker. Joseph Enakarhire (born 6 November 1982) is a Nigerian former professional footballer. He could play as either a right back or a central defender. Club career Born in Warri, Enakarhire impressed at a young age at Standard Liège before moving to Sporting Clube de Portugal in 2004–05, signing a four-year contract and eventually becoming first-choice. However, after just one season, he was sold to Russia's big spenders FC Dynamo Moscow. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world.
