2003 CBA All-Star Game
The 2003 Continental Basketball Association All-Star Game was the 37th All-Star Game organised by CBA since its inception in 1949 and the first after 2000. It was held at the 7,500 seat Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on March 22, 2003. The National Conference defeated the American Conference 140-125 and Versile Shaw was named the Most Valuable Player. The 2008 ABA All-Star Game events CBA Long Distance Shootout Malik Dixon of Dakota Wizards was the winner beating Puerto Rican Larry Ayuso of Grand Rapids Hoops in the final. CBA Fan-Jam Bryant Notree of the Gary Steelheads won the slam-dunk competition beating Cory Hightower of the Great Lakes Storm in the final. The Game MVP Versile Shaw scored 29 points, picking up 7 rebounds, Fred Vinson had 24 pts while Tyson Wheeler had 14 assist for the National Conference. Continental Basketball Association
The Continental Basketball Association (CBA) (originally known as the Eastern Pennsylvania Basketball League, and later as the Eastern Professional Basketball League and the Eastern Basketball Association) was a men's professional basketball minor league in the United States from 1946 to 2009. Rosell Ellis
Rosell Ellis (born February 19, 1975) is an American former professional basketball player. High school & College From 1993–1995, he played college basketball at the College of Eastern Utah. In 1995, he then moved to McNeese State of the NCAA Division I for his junior and senior years. During his senior year at McNeese State, Ellis averaged 18.5 points per game on almost 67 percent shooting. Professional After his college career, Ellis joined Deportivo Roca of Argentina for the 1997 season. Later that year, he joined the Des Moines Dragons of the now-defunct International Basketball Association for the 1997–98 season, becoming the league's fifth-leading scorer. Eric Murdock
Eric Lloyd Murdock (born June 14, 1968) is an American former professional basketball player who was selected by the Utah Jazz in the first round (21st pick overall) of the 1991 NBA draft. Biography Murdock grew up in Bridgewater Township, New Jersey, where his mother was hit and killed by a reckless driver when he was less than one year old. He played high school basketball at Bridgewater-Raritan High School West. A 6'1" point guard, Murdock then played at Providence College, and held several school records at the time of his graduation, including most career steals (376, also an NCAA record that held until 2002), most points in conference games in a season (435, also a Big East record), most points in a game (48, another Big East record) and most free throws in a season (238). Oliver Miller
Oliver J. Miller (born April 6, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player. He was nicknamed "The Big O" because of his large size ( and well over throughout his pro career). Miller played college basketball at the University of Arkansas and was drafted by the Phoenix Suns in 1992. Corsley Edwards (born March 5, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Central Connecticut. Early life and college Edwards was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated from Lake Clifton High School in 1998. He played collegiately at Central Connecticut State University and led the team to its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance in 2000, losing a close 88–78 battle as a #15 seed against #2 seeded Iowa State. Professional career Edwards was selected by the Sacramento Kings with the final (58th) pick in the 2002 NBA draft but he did not sign with them. Rockford Lightning
The Rockford Lightning was a basketball team that played in the Continental Basketball Association. They were based in Rockford, Illinois. History The Lightning were the oldest team in the CBA, originally existing as the Lancaster Red Roses from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. That team changed their name to the Lancaster Lightning, then the franchise moved to Baltimore for a year before relocating in Rockford. Their home arena was the MetroCentre. Albert White (born June 13, 1977) is an American former professional basketball player. White played in a variety of domestic and foreign basketball leagues. In high school, he was one of the most highly decorated basketball players in the United States. In college, he achieved success after transferring from University of Michigan to University of Missouri, but his success did not lead him to the National Basketball Association (henceforth NBA). David Joerger ( [YAY-ger]) (born February 21, 1974) is an American professional basketball coach who serves as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was the head coach of the Dakota Wizards from 2000 to 2004 and in 2006–2007 in the International Basketball Association, Continental Basketball Association, and the NBA Development League, winning championships in 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2007. Miles Julian Simon (born November 21, 1975) is an American basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the South Bay Lakers of the NBA G League. College career Simon was born in Stockholm to an American father and a Norwegian mother. He played guard for the University of Arizona Wildcats men's basketball team, where he formed a formidable backcourt duo with future NBA point guard Mike Bibby.
