2003 British Formula Ford Season
The 2003 British Formula Ford Championship is the 28th edition of the British Formula Ford Championship. It commenced on 21 April at Mondello Park and end on 21 September at Oulton Park after 10 rounds and 21 races, all in support of the British Touring Car Championship and Champ Car when they visited Brands Hatch in May. This was the last year until 2013 that the series supported the British Touring Car Championship as they switched to supporting the British GT and British Formula Three Championship from 2004 to 2012. British Formula Ford Championship
The British Formula Ford Championship was an entry level single seater motor racing category, designed to give racing drivers their first step into car racing after karting. Drivers from around the world were attracted to the United Kingdom to compete in the series, and successful Formula One drivers such as Ayrton Senna and Jenson Button won their first single-seater titles in the championship. The championship was run to various Formula Ford regulations over the years, based on the engines provided for the championship by Ford Motor Company. These engine based regulations/specifications include the Ford Kent engine, Ford Zetec engine, Ford Duratec engine and in the final years the Ford EcoBoost engine. From the 2015 season onwards, the championship was replaced by MSA Formula, which conforms to the FIA's new Formula 4 regulations. Stuart Hall (racing Driver)
Stuart Hall (born 18 October 1984 in Chelmsford) is a British racing driver. He is the 2013 GTEAM World Endurance Champion and has competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for teams including Aston Martin Racing. Career Single-seaters After winning the T Cars championship in 2000, Hall moved into single-seaters. In 2002 he finished ninth in the British Formula Ford Championship, before coming fourth in that year's Winter Series, where he won two of the four races. The following year he only started 12 of the 20 races in the series, concentrating instead on his A level studies. After debuting in Formula Renault in the 2003 UK Winter Series, he raced full-time in Formula Renault UK in 2004. Mygale Racing Car Constructor (Mygale SARL) is a French racing car manufacturer that specialises in the production of single seater chassis for use in formula racing. It is most notable for its Formula Ford chassis. Mygale also produces the chassis used by in Formula Renault, Formula BMW, Formula Three and Formula Four. The company was established in 1989 by Bertrand Decoster and its factory is based in the Technopole of Magny-Cours, France. Mygale is a contracted chassis supplier for single-marque formulae, including Formula Renault Campus and Formula BMW. Valle Mäkelä
Valle Mäkelä (born 2 February 1986, Laitila, Finland) is a Finnish motor racing driver. Career Mäkelä began his kart racing career at the age of five. In 2000 he became Finnish Champion in the ICA-J class. In 2002, he began racing in Formula Ford in both the UK and Nordics with some success. In 2003, he finished 3rd in the British Formula Ford Championship class, winning one race and securing a further seven podiums. Remaining with Nexa Racing, Mäkelä won the 2004 British Formula Ford title with 506 points scored over the season, including ten victories. For 2005, he joined GR Asia in the World Touring Car Championship racing a Seat Toledo alongside Tom Coronel. His best result was a 10th place finish at Silverstone. Fluid Motorsport Development constructs the Sinter Formula Ford car. The company also fielded a racing team in British Formula Ford between 2002 and 2012. Fluid Motorsport was also active in British Formula 3 as a team between 2005 and 2008. History Lindsay Allen was a race engineer for various teams and worked on various cars. In the off-season he would work at Van Diemen before setting up Nexa Racing in 2002. Nexa Racing was founded by Lindsay Allen and fellow former Van Diemen engineer Roger Littin. Antonio Pérez Mendoza (born 20 March 1986) is a Mexican retired stock car racing driver. He last competed in the NASCAR Mexico Series, driving the No. 1 Toyota for Jimmy Morales. Jay Howard (born 16 February 1981) is a British professional race car driver who competes in the IndyCar Series and Indianapolis 500 and resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. Matt Allison (racing Driver)
Matt Allison (born 13 June 1983 in Norwich) is a British racing driver. He is most well known for winning the 2006 British GT Championship and for racing in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). He progressed through the ranks of British Karting, winning two championships and two runner-up trophies before moving to Formula Ford in the 2000. In his first year of car racing, Allison won the BRDC Formula Ford 1600 single seater championship. He progressed to the senior Ford 1800 category for 2001–2003 with numerous podium finishes and a championship best finish of 5th in 2002. Funding issues preventing a move to Formula Renault/F3 saw him switch to front wheel drive saloon racing in the form of the Renault Clio Cup. Alx Danielsson
Alexander "Alx" Danielsson (born 1 April 1981) is a Swedish racing driver and the 2006 champion of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series. He currently competes in the Swedish V8 Thundercar Series and as a fill-in driver on the Monster Jam circuit. Career Danielsson's career started in karting in 1998, where he stayed until 1999 before moving up to Formula Ford. In 2004 Danielsson progressed to Formula Renault V6 in Europe and Asia before moving onto the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in Europe.
