2002 Meath Senior Football Championship
The 2002 Meath Senior Football Championship was the 110th edition of the Meath GAA's premier club Gaelic football tournament for senior graded teams in County Meath, Ireland. The tournament consists of 16 teams, with the winner going on to represent Meath in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. The championship starts with a group stage and then progresses to a knock out stage. Dunshaughlin were the defending champions after they defeated Skryne in the previous years final, and in October 2002, they successfully defended their title with a 1–11 to 2–6 win over Trim to claim their 3rd Senior Championship title in a row and 3rd in all. Kenny McTigue raised the Keegan Cup while David Crimmins scooped the 'Man of the Match' award. Meath Senior Football Championship
The Meath Senior Football Championship is an annual Gaelic Athletic Association club competition between the top Gaelic football clubs in Meath, Ireland. Qualification for subsequent competitions The winners of the Meath Senior Football Championship winners qualify to represent their county in the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship and in turn, go on to the All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship. Competition format From 2020, 16 teams compete in the championship, with four groups of four teams. The top two finishers in each group qualify for the quarter-finals. The bottom two teams in each group progress to the relegation playoffs. The overall loser in the relegation playoffs gets relegated to the Intermediate Division. Navan O'Mahony's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Navan in County Meath, Ireland. The club competes in Meath competitions. With 20 Senior Football wins they are the most successful football club in Meath. Rathvilly Gaelic Athletic Association is a Gaelic football and ladies' Gaelic football club based in Rathvilly, County Carlow, Ireland. History The club was founded in 1888. The teacher Edward O'Toole was the first captain of the club; he was a member of the Irish Republican Brotherhood (IRB) and an early influence on Kevin Barry. Rathvilly won its first Carlow Junior Football Championship in 1916. Anthony Moyles
Anthony Moyles (born 16 November 1976) is an Irish Gaelic football coach and former player who currently manages Dunsaughlin in the Meath Senior Football Championship. Moyles originally played for local club St Pauls in the Junior Championship and was on a team that earned promotion to the Intermediate division. In 2002 he transferred to Blackhall Gaels with whom he won his first Meath , Senior Championship title in 2003. Between late 2008 and early 2009 Moyles moved to St Oliver Plunketts/Eoghan Ruadh, a top level team in Dublin. Meath Moyles has been a member of the Meath panel since 2000. He was named as the captain for 2007 which turned to a successful year for him and his panel. He played as a back for Meath in the controversial 2010 Leinster Senior Football Championship Final against Louth, which Meath won by two points giving Moyles his first Leinster title. Pairc Tailteann
Park ( gd, A' Phàirc), also known as South Lochs, is a huge area of land connected to the rest of Lewis only by a narrow neck between Loch Seaforth and Loch Erisort. This had a wall called ''Gàrradh an Tighearna'' (''"The Laird's Dyke"'') built across it by the Earl of Seaforth in the early 17th century, the outline of which can still be seen. Summerhill Gaelic Football Club is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the village of Summerhill in County Meath, Ireland. The team was first founded in 1905 but later disbanded. The current club was founded in 1931, and has since won 7 Meath Senior Football Championships. Summerhill is one of three Meath teams to have won the Leinster Senior Club Football Championship. History Early history The first GAA club in Summerhill was founded in 1905, little is known about this team and is thought to have disbanded sometime around 1913 or 1914. Gaeil Colmcille CLG is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in the town of Kells, County Meath, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club currently plays at senior level in the Meath Senior Football Championship and play their home games at Grangegodden and Pairc Colmcille. History The club was founded in 1964 and had almost immediate success, reaching the Meath Senior Football final in 1964 but lost by 2 points to Kilbride GFC 0-08 to 0-06. St Peters, Dunboyne is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the town of Dunboyne, in County Meath, Ireland. St Patrick's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the village of Stamullen, in Meath, Ireland. The club competes at Intermediate level in football and Junior level in hurling in Meath GAA competitions. The club was founded in January 1950 by the amalgamation Stamullen and Julianstown GAA clubs. The original clubs were mildly successful in senior football with Stamullen and Julianstown both winning a Senior Football Championship. Walterstown GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association football club based in & around the town of Navan, in County Meath, Ireland. Seneschalstown GAA is a small rural Gaelic Athletic Association club from Beauparc/Kentstown parish in County Meath, founded in 1932. The club ground is situated about 6 miles east of Navan and 3 miles south of Slane. Skryne GFC
Skryne GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in the Village of Skryne, in County Meath, Ireland. The club mainly plays Gaelic Football. It competes in Meath GAA competitions. Skryne has the second most Meath Senior Football Championship titles after Navan O Mahony's. Every All-Ireland Winning Meath team has had a Skryne player as a panel member.
