The 2002 Coca-Cola Tigers season was the first season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Chot Reyes
Vincent "Chot" P. Reyes (born August 1, 1963) is a Filipino basketball head coach for the TNT Tropang Giga for the Philippine Basketball Association. He is also the head coach of the Philippine national basketball team, where he led the team to a historic silver medal finish at the 2013 FIBA Asia Championship and the subsequent appearance at the 2014 FIBA World Cup, the country's first in 36 years. Reyes is a five-time PBA Coach of the Year. He is the President of TV5 Network, Inc. (from October 3, 2016, to June 2, 2019, replacing Noel Lorenzana) and president of Media5, which served as the sales and marketing arm of TV5. The 2003 Coca-Cola Tigers season was the second season of the franchise in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Draft picks Championship (Finals stint) The Coca-Cola Tigers played in the finals in all three conferences of the league's 29th season. In the All-Filipino Cup, the defending champions blew a 2–0 series lead in the best-of-seven championship against Talk 'N Text Phone Pals and lost in six games. Coca-Cola placed runner-up for the second straight conference when they lost to Alaska in the best-of-three finals series of the short Invitational championship. Coca-Cola didn't end up bridesmaid for the third time in the season by winning over San Miguel Beermen in the season-ending Reinforced Conference. The Pop Cola Panthers were a professional basketball team that played in the Philippine Basketball Association from 1990-2001. The franchise was owned by RFM Corporation. In 2001, when RFM Corporation sold its entire stake in Cosmos Bottling Corporation to Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI), the PBA franchise was included in the transaction. Upon ownership by CCBPI, the PBA franchise renamed the Coca-Cola Tigers beginning the 2002 PBA season and was considered as an expansion team. The Tanduay Rhum Makers (1975-1987) and Tanduay Rhum Masters (1999-2001) were two basketball franchises associated with the same liquor brand that played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The original franchise, owned by Elizalde & Co., Inc., was a founding member of the PBA. From 1975-1980, the team played under the name Tanduay Distillery; Tanduay ESQ and Tanduay Esquires; then as, YCO-Tanduay in 1981-1983.
