The NOFV-Oberliga was split into two divisions, NOFV-Oberliga Nord and NOFV-Oberliga Süd. The champions of each, Hertha BSC (A) and Dynamo Dresden, entered into a play-off against each other for the right to play in the 2002–03 Regionalliga Nord. Dynamo Dresden won 1–0 over two legs and thus gained promotion. NOFV-Oberliga
The NOFV- Oberliga is a division at step 5 of the German football league system. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, it became the successor of the DDR-Oberliga, and functions today as a 5th division in the former territory of East Germany and the city of Berlin. This league is named after the Nordostdeutscher Fußballverband (NOFV: North-East German Football Association), the regional association of the DFB in the former East German territories. The league is currently split in two groups, north and south, the NOFV-Oberliga Nord and NOFV-Oberliga Süd. A third league, the NOFV-Oberliga Mitte existed from 1991 to 1994. 1990–91 Season The NOFV-Oberliga developed after the entry of the Deutscher Fußball-Verband (the East German Football Association) to the Deutscher Fußball-Bund. Türkiyemspor Berlin is a Turkish association football club from Berlin. The club began in 1978 as a loose association of young footballers playing recreationally as ''Kreuzberg Gençler Birliği'' (Kreuzberg Youth Union), named after the Berlin district of Kreuzberg. FC Carl Zeiss Jena is a German football club based in Jena, Thuringia. VFC Plauen is a German association football club from the city of Plauen, Saxony. The club had to declare insolvency on 1 December 2014. __TOC__ History The club was founded as ''1. Vogtländischer Fußballclub Plauen'' and took part in the competition of the VMFV (Verband Mitteldeutschland Fußball Verein or Federation of Middle German Football Teams). FV Preussen Eberswalde is a German association football club from Eberswalde, Brandenberg northeast of Berlin. History The club was founded on 1 July 1909 as ''FC Preussen Eberswalde'' (FC Prussia Eberswalde) and steadily improved in the period leading up to World War I advancing to play in the top local league. FSV Optik Rathenow is a German association football club who compete in the Oberliga. The club is situated in the city of Rathenow, near Berlin, and play their home games at the Vogelgesang. In 1994, the club earned three promotions in quick succession under coach, Ingo Kahlisch, and reached Germany's 3rd tier, enjoying a three-season spell at that level competing against the likes of FC Union Berlin and Dynamo Dresden.
