2001 Commonwealth Of Independent States Cup
The 2001 Commonwealth of Independent States Cup was the ninth edition of the competition between the champions of former republics of Soviet Union. It was won by Spartak Moscow for the sixth time overall and third in a row. For the third and final time the competition was played in a two-division format (first introduced in 1999). The next year the format was changed, mostly due to relegation of Ukraine from the top division. Shamkir Football Club ( az, Şəmkir Futbol Klubu), is an Azerbaijani football club based in Şəmkir, that currently plays in the Azerbaijan First Division. Araks Ararat FC ( hy, Արաքս Արարատ Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ), is a defunct Armenian football club from the town of Ararat, Ararat Province. Club history The club was founded in 1960 as FC Ararat to represent the town of Ararat. With the independence of Armenia, the Ararat Cement Factory took over FC Ararat in 1993 and the club was renamed FC Tsement Ararat.
