Santiago
Santiago (, ; ), also known as Santiago de Chile, is the capital and largest city of Chile as well as one of the largest cities in the Americas. Nicholas Wachira (born 19 November 1982) is a Kenyan former middle-distance runner who competed mostly in the 800 metres. He represented his country at the 2001 and 2003 World Championships reaching semifinals at both occasions. In addition, he won gold medals at the 1999 World Youth and 2000 World Junior Championships. Thomas Blaschek
Thomas Blaschek (born 5 April 1981 in Gera, East Germany) is a German hurdler. His personal best time is 13.31 seconds, achieved in July 2005 in Cuxhaven. This ranks him fifth among German 110 m hurdlers, behind Florian Schwarthoff, Mike Fenner, Eric Kaiser and Falk Balzer. Blascheck was successful at junior level before his senior career, having won the bronze medal at the 1999 European Athletics Junior Championships and the silver medal at the 2000 World Junior Championships in Athletics. His senior breakthrough occurred in 2005, when he was the German champion indoors and outdoors and took a silver medal at the 2005 European Cup. Robert Kipkorir Kipchumba (born 2 February 1984 in Kaptul, Marakwet District) is a Kenyan long-distance track, and road running athlete. Biography He started running while at Hossen Primary School. Kipchumba won the junior race at the 2000 World Cross Country Championships in Vilamoura finishing in 22:49. Later that year in Santiago de Chile he won the gold medal at the 2000 World Junior Championships in Athletics when he finished the 10,000 m in 28:54.37. In 2001 and 2002 his running was hampered by injuries. He was recruited by Kenyan Army in 2002. He won the Stramilano half marathon in 2004. Kenenisa Bekele ( om, Qananiisaa baqqalaa; am, ቀነኒሳ በቀለ; born 13 June 1982) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner. He was the world record holder in both the 5000-metre and 10000-metre from 2004 (5,000m) and 2005 (10,000m) until 2020.
