2000 British Academy Television Craft Awards
The 1st Annual British Academy Television Craft Awards were presented by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) on 30 April 2000, with Gabby Yorath presiding over the event. The awards were held at BAFTA headquarters at 195 Piccadilly, City of Westminster, Westminster, London, and given in recognition of technical achievements in British television of 1999 in British television, 1999. Previously, craft awards were handed out in conjunction with the British Academy Television Awards, television awards which, from 1968 to 1999, was held as a joint event with the British Academy Film Awards, film awards. After Agnes becomes pregnant by Edwin, she discovers he is married, with a long-estranged wife and a teenaged son. Background The title of the programme comes from a historic English saying, "there's nowt so queer as folk", meaning "there's nothing as strange as people"; which is a word play on the modern-day English sense of "queer", as homosexual. ''The Royle Family'' is a British sitcom produced by Granada Television for the BBC, which ran for three series from 1998 to 2000, and specials from 2006 to 2012.
