1st Prince
1st Prince was an electoral district in the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, which elected two members to the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1873 to 1993. The district comprised the westernmost portion of Prince County. Communities in the district included Alberton and Tignish. When the provincial electoral districts were reorganized into conventional single-member districts in 1996, 1st Prince was replaced by the districts of Tignish-DeBlois, Alberton-Miminegash and West Point-Bloomfield O'Leary-Inverness is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island, Canada. An heir apparent, often shortened to heir, is a person who is first in an order of succession and cannot be displaced from inheriting by the birth of another person; a person who is first in the order of succession but can be displaced by the birth of a more eligible heir is known as heir presumptive. Francis Gallant
Francis "Frank" Gallant (March 17, 1841 – October 3, 1905) was a merchant, mariner and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 1st Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1875 to 1876 as a Conservative member. He was born François Gallant in Nail Pond, Prince Edward Island, the son of Sylvain Gallant and Mary Gaudet. He went to sea at a young age and became a master mariner involved in the trade with the West Indies. After 14 years at sea, he established a lobster packing at Tignish. Gallant then became a general merchant. He served as postmaster for Tignish and operated an inn there. In 1870, he married Katherine McKenna. Gallant was elected to the provincial assembly in an 1875 by-election held after Stanislaus Francis Perry was elected to the House of Commons. Gallant died in Tignish at the age of 64. Benjamin Rogers (Lieutenant Governor)
Benjamin Rogers (August 7, 1837 – May 16, 1923) was a merchant and political figure in Prince Edward Island. He was a member of the Legislative Council of Prince Edward Island from 1878 to 1893 and represented 1st Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1893 to 1897 and from 1900 to 1904 as a Liberal member. He was the ninth Lieutenant Governor of Prince Edward Island from 1910 to 1915. He was born in Bedeque, Prince Edward Island, the son of Joseph Rogers, who had emigrated from Wales. Rogers was an export merchant. He also served as a justice of the peace and Commissioner of Small Debts. In 1862, he married Susannah Abell Hubbard. He was leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council from 1883 to 1891 and became a member of the province's Executive Council, serving as Commissioner of Agriculture and Provincial Secretary Treasurer. Jeremiah Blanchard
Jérémie "Jeremiah" Blanchard (September 27, 1859 – March 17, 1939) was a farmer and political figure in Prince Edward Island. He represented 1st Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1893 to 1897 as a Prince Edward Island Conservative Party, Conservative and from 1922 to 1931 as a Prince Edward Island Liberal Party, Liberal. He was born in Rustico, Prince Edward Island, the son of Sylvestre Blanchard and Virginie Doucette. He learned the trade of carpentry from his father. Blanchard was married twice: to Domitilde Gallant in 1880 and to Leonie Gomeau (née DesRoches) in 1921. He was an unsuccessful candidate for a seat in the provincial assembly in 1890 and in 1919. He served in the province's Executive Council as a minister without portfolio. His grandson Elmer Blanchard also served in the provincial assembly. References

Bernard Donald McLellan (November 3, 1859 – April 11, 1907) was a Canadian farmer and political figure in Prince Edward Island. He represented 1st Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1888 to 1893 and West Prince in the House of Commons of Canada from 1898 to 1900 as a Liberal member. McLellan was born in Indian River, Prince Edward Island, the son of Angus J. McLellan and Matilda McDonald, and educated at St. Dunstan's College in Charlottetown. John Archibald Matheson
John Archibald Matheson (September 3, 1844 – March 20, 1919) was a merchant and politician in Prince Edward Island. He represented 1st Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1883 to 1893. He was born in Black River, Queens County, Prince Edward Island, the son of John Matheson, a Scottish immigrant. He was educated there and in Charlottetown. He worked for George Howlan before establishing his own business, operating as a general merchant and also being involved in fishing. In 1881, he married Emily M. Clowser. Matheson was a justice of the peace and postmaster. His election in 1883 was declared invalid but he was reelected in the by-election held later that same year.
