19th British Academy Games Awards
The 19th British Academy Video Game Awards were hosted by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts on 30 March 2023 to honour the best video games of 2022. Held at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, the ceremony was hosted by esports presenter Frankie Ward, taking over from Elle Osili-Wood who hosted the previous two ceremonies. The ceremony was livestreamed exclusively on BAFTA's Twitch channel, hosted by games journalist Julia Hardy and comedian Inel Tomlinson. Red carpet coverage was presented by Eurogamer's Aoife Wilson. Sony Interactive's ''God of War Ragnarök'' received the most nominations, with fifteen, becoming the most nominated game in the history of the BAFTA Games Awards. While ''God of War Ragnarök'' won the most awards at the ceremony, with six, the top honour, Best Game, was won by '' Vampire Survivors''. Queen Elizabeth Hall
The Queen Elizabeth Hall (QEH) is a music venue on the South Bank in London, England, that hosts classical, jazz, and avant-garde music, talks and dance performances. It was opened in 1967, with a concert conducted by Benjamin Britten. The QEH was built along with the smaller Purcell Room as part of Southbank Centre arts complex. It stands alongside the Royal Festival Hall, which was built for the Festival of Britain of 1951, and the Hayward Gallery which opened in 1968. British Academy Games Award For Animation
The British Academy Video Games Award for Animation is an award presented annually by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA). It is given in honor to "the highest level of excellence in bringing a game to life", considering elements such as "player control, non-player characters, ambient/environmental animation, facial animation and cinematics". The category also considers the style, fluidity and responsiveness of the character. Ben Brode is an American video game designer. He was the game director and public face of '' Hearthstone'' until 2018 when he left to found his own game studio, Second Dinner, where he is now Chief Creative Officer.
