Elizabeth Galloway Bell (1911–2007), née Watson, was an Australian buddhist and president of the Buddhist Society of Victoria for twenty years. Charles William Tingwell AM (3 January 1923 – 15 May 2009), known professionally as Bud Tingwell or Charles 'Bud' Tingwell, was an Australian film, television, theatre and radio actor. Cheryl Elisabeth Praeger (born 7 September 1948, Toowoomba, Queensland) is an Australian mathematician. Praeger received BSc (1969) and MSc degrees from the University of Queensland (1974), and a doctorate from the University of Oxford in 1973 under direction of Peter M. Neumann. Michael Fitzgerald Page (2 February 1922 – 3 November 2014) was a British-born Australian writer, editor, advertising executive, World War II veteran and merchant sailor. Fiona Coote
Fiona Coote was Australia's youngest heart transplant recipient when she underwent surgery at the age of 14 on 8 April 1984. While Coote was the fourth transplant recipient in Australia, she is only the second to survive for a significant period. Personal life Born on 3 January 1970 and growing up on a family farm, Galen, from Manilla in northern New South Wales, Coote attended a private Catholic school near Tamworth. She married in 1996. Heart transplant The procedure was performed by the Chinese–Australian cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Victor Chang. Gracia Baylor
Hilda Gracia Baylor AM (born 8 October 1929 in Brisbane) is an Australian retired politician. Baylor was one of the first two women elected to the Victorian Legislative Council in 1979, the other being Joan Coxsedge. Gracia was born in Brisbane, her father was in the military and the family eventually settled in Victoria. She studied fine art and teaching, and taught in secondary schools until she married. Following her first marriage she worked as a law clerk and managed one of her husband's three law practices (Richard Baylor).
