The 1999 British Formula Three season was the 49th British Formula Three Championship season. It commenced on 21 March, and ended on 17 October after sixteen races. Marc Hynes was the champion, although the season is best remembered for 19-year-old future F1 champion Jenson Button marking himself out as one to watch. Martin O'Connell took the spoils in Class B. British Formula 3 International Series
The British Formula Three Championship was an international motor racing series that took place primarily in the United Kingdom with a small number of events in mainland Europe. It was a junior-level feeder formula that used small single seater Formula Three chassis. Its final official title was the Cooper Tires British Formula 3 International Series. Yudai Igarashi
is a retired Japanese professional race car driver, who last competed in 2003. Career Igarashi competed in British Formula 3 in the late 1990s before returning to Japan to compete in the 2000 Formula Nippon Championship with Team LeMans. He drove 10 races and scored 1 point, finishing 13th in the Drivers Championship. He would race in Formula Nippon for the next two seasons, with Team LeMans and Mooncraft. He scored no further points in the series. In 2003, he raced three times for Team Nova, again scoring no points. Alongside his Formula Nippon racing, Igarashi raced GT cars. Prema Powerteam (competing as Prema Racing in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, the FIA Formula 3 Championship and European Le Mans Series and as Prema Orlen Team in the FIA World Endurance Championship) is a motorsport team from Italy. Tiago Vagaroso da Costa Monteiro (; born 24 July 1976) is a Portuguese professional racing driver currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup, driving a Honda Civic TCR for Engstler Motorsport. Michael Bentwood (born 10 January 1978 and based in Altrincham) is a British auto racing driver. After starting racing in Karting, he entered the 1994 Formula First Winter Series, finishing the season in tenth. In 1995 he finished fifth in the Formula Vauxhall Junior Winter Series.
