The 1999 Armenian Cup was the eighth edition of the Armenian Cup, a football competition. In 1999, the tournament had 16 participants, out of which only 1 was a reserve team. Araks Ararat FC
Araks Ararat FC ( hy, Արաքս Արարատ Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ), is a defunct Armenian football club from the town of Ararat, Ararat Province. Club history The club was founded in 1960 as FC Ararat to represent the town of Ararat. With the independence of Armenia, the Ararat Cement Factory took over FC Ararat in 1993 and the club was renamed FC Tsement Ararat. They played in the Armenian Premier League and won two titles, the first in 1998 as Tsement and the 2nd in 2000 as Araks Ararat. The following year, Tsement yielded the championship to FC Shirak by two points and ended up on the third spot behind FC Ararat Yerevan. However, after many successful years, the club president ''Abraham Babayan'' was unable to finance the club. Eventually, the rights were sold in late 2000 to a new sponsor based in Yerevan and Araks Ararat FC was dissolved. Football Club Alashkert ( hy, Ֆուտբոլային Ակումբ Ալաշկերտ), commonly known as Alashkert, is an Football in Armenia, Armenian football club based in the capital Yerevan, founded in 1990 in Martuni, Armenia, Martuni and after folding in 2000 re-founded in 2011. They currently play in the Armenian Premier League. The home stadium of the team is the Alashkert Stadium in Yerevan. The club headquarters are located on Saryan street 25, Yerevan. Although based in Yerevan they are in fact named after the historic Western Armenian town of Alashkert, now Eleşkirt in Eastern Turkey. Hrazdan Stadium
Hrazdan Stadium ( hy, Հրազդան մարզադաշտ) is a multi-use, all-seater stadium in Yerevan, Armenia, opened in 1970. Being the largest sports venue in Armenia, Hrazdan was mostly used for football matches. It was the home stadium of the Armenia national football team until 1999 and has hosted the occasional international game since then. The stadium is able to host 54,208 spectators after the most recent reconstruction in 2008, which converted the stadium into an all-seater one. Before the reconstruction, Hrazdan was able to hold up to 70,000 spectators. It was among the top four stadiums of the Soviet Union by its capacity. The stadium hosted the Armenian Cup finals on many occasions, as well as the opening ceremony of the Pan-Armenian Games in 2003. Ara Hakobyan ( hy, Արա Հակոբյան, born on 4 November 1980) is an Armenian retired footballer who played as forward for the Armenia national team and participated in 42 international matches and scored 7 goals since his debut in a home friendly match on 21 November 1998. Hakobyan played for many Armenian and Ukrainian football clubs. Club career Ara's career began in Dvin Artashat, where he played with his brother Aram Hakobyan. Away Goals
The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground.
